Opening trunk w/ smart key. Duh.

I don't have the power liftgate, so I can see why that would be a reason to use the key to initiate that as you are walking to the car. I'm stuck walking up to the trunk and manually opening it. fight back next time! (chair) jk, was not intended to be confrontational in any way.

Opening trunk w/ smart key. Duh.

Another value-added comment from SportOwner! No wonder your post count is so high. More trying to understand his rationale (to try to learn something new) rather than convincing him he is wrong.

Opening trunk w/ smart key. Duh.

yes, if the last person never closes the door, that last door will not lock (duh, it's open!) and the alarm will not arm. But you'll know the car hasn't locked (no beep). This allows you to get out of your car, initiate the lock from your driver's door (once the passenger(s) have opened their...

Opening trunk w/ smart key. Duh.

Agree 100% on door locking. My 550 would allow me to initiate the lock and start walking away, but the lock would actually occur (with a beep) once the last door was closed. I don't mind the full unlock feature since i'm not usually in any questionable areas. Plus I'm not sure how much risk...

Opening trunk w/ smart key. Duh.

So I've owned my CX-9 about two months now and have found that the GT really comes stocked with a lot of stuff I started taking for granted in my previous car (5 series BMW)...for a lot less $$. The one that did bother me is that unlike my previous car I could not open the trunk with the smart...

Retractable Key to Replace Advanced Key?

The credit card key great for me. My previous car (BMW) had a big key fob which I had to carry separately with my 2 other keys (home + mailbox). Now I just keep the mazda key in my wallet, and I can fit the other 2 keys in there too...so no keychain to forget/lose. Now I just have to figure...

    Jacking Points - Actual Info

I'm afraid of the car slipping off the puck since there's no notch in it. How do you protect against that? So, just to clarify, you jack up using the center of front crossmember, then place the stands at the jack points you use with the factory scissor jack (along side of car just behind both...

Do you keep your 3rd row up or down?

I compromise with 1 seat up and 1 seat down. The seat I keep is on the opposite side of car seat in 2nd row. That way I can seat 5 easily (+ car seat), but still have 1/2 of a deep trunk for stroller, golf clubs, etc Obviously I put both up or down as necessary.

    Jacking Points - Actual Info

I'm bumping up this relatively old but useful post as the cold season approaches and people look to swap the dueller's out for something that actually works in the snow (I just got a set of blizzak's and wheels off of tirerack). For my previous BMWs, I would just use the factory jack to change...

    2010 cx9-Happy to get one

Anyone know if the dimensions for the storage area have changed for 2010? If not, replacing the 09 (and prior) console door to the new "bomb bay" door style may be an easy swap.

Replacement Headrest Monitors with DVD Players for Mazda CX-9

Thanks. Can you post more pics (larger and with screen on)? Some more questions: - Does the screen tilt up/down? - Can you have the same DVD play on both screen simultaneously? - How would you describe the quality of the screen? what is the resolution?

2009 CX-9 GT - compass in rear view mirror?

Yes, it's not important enough to argue over, but it would be nice to have since I didn't get the nav. Just find it weird that if you go to mazdaparts.org, all the rear view mirror choices have the compass.

2009 CX-9 GT - compass in rear view mirror?

posted this in main forum but got no traffic. Should a 2009 CX-9 GT have a compass in the homelink rear view mirror? The website says it should, but mine doesn't.

    Shortcomings of Touring trim?

My mirror has homelink (garage opener buttons), and I believe it's standard on the GT. Just no compass.

    Shortcomings of Touring trim?

Just doublechecked and I do have side mirror turn signals - just never noticed it. But I definitely don't have a compass in my rear view mirror. (huh)

    Shortcomings of Touring trim?

I have a related question regarding Touring vs. GT. On the website it lists the following 'upgrades' when going from T to GT: Touring trim features plus: * 20" alloy bright finish wheels * Smart Card with Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System * Xenon auto on/off headlights...

    Door Edge Guards?

Some additional pics from further away to see how the the edge guards are barely noticeable. Again from my cell phone. One of the pics has my other ride (a lot less practical than CX-9).
