    CX-30 Towing Capacity and Hitch

Here in Europe it's rates to pull 1300 kg, so it's capable enough. Why it's not allowed in the US I don't know.

SkyActiv-X may not reach US shores

Yes and yes. Mazda has said that the range extender would be the size of a shoebox. And as it's acting as a generator, they can make it run at optimal rpm at all times.

CX-30 Features: US vs. Europe vs. Canada

The AFS has pivoting headlights, so the lights turn left or right by up to 15 degrees but main beam is either on or off as with normal headlights. The ALH (Adaptive LED headlights - some time called matrix LED or segment LED) has a number of individual LEDs for main beam, I think it's 11 or 12...

CX-30 Features: US vs. Europe vs. Canada

I also believe that USA and Canada are missing out on the Adaptive LED headlights (matrix/segment LED) and only get the AFS headlights.

    CX-30 EuroNCAP Test Results

The Mazda CX-30 just scored the highest rating ever for Adult Occupants in EuroNCAP with 99%, the Mazda 3 is close behind with 98% (tested in the spring). So it looks like the new platform which is used by the 3 and CX-30 is very safe. https://www.euroncap.com/en/results/mazda/cx-30/38857

    Trip Computer MPG

Mine isn't a CX-5 but a CX-3 though I think the computer is pretty much the same. My actual mpg is usually (about 95% of the time) within 0.5 MPG US, rest is of by 0.5-1.5. Sometimes the actual mpg is better than the computer, sometimes worse. Mind you I've had to convert from L/100km to MPG US...

    CX-5 vs CX-30

I'm not saying you are wrong, but have you actually tested the CX-30? I found it extremely silent and quite premium, both the ride and in the interior.

Is Mazda's upcoming CX-30 on your shopping list?

I was out test driving the CX-30 Skyactiv-G (122hp) with auto transmission a few days ago. The engine is a bit sluggish compared to my current CX-30 (with 120hp and auto transmission) but it was driving fine. The car it self is miles ahead of the CX-3. The interior is extremely nice and quiet...

2017~2025 How bright are your 2018/2019 headlights?

I know, I was just pointing out that Mazda does have a more advanced system which, for som reason, isn't approved in the US.

2017~2025 How bright are your 2018/2019 headlights?

Mazda has a more advanced system in Europe and Japan called ALH (or matrix/segment LED). It uses a number of individual LEDs for each highbeam and turns them if depending on traffic. But I don't think that kind of system is allowed in the US.

2017~2025 How bright are your 2018/2019 headlights?

I don't have a CX-5 but a CX-3, but I think the LED front fog are about the same....and they are about the most useless thing my CX-3 is equiped with. If I have to use the light from my front fogs to be able to see the road, I better not be driving faster than about 15 km/h. They only light...

    Preemptive Rust proofing and prevention

It's very popular here in Scandinavia as we usually use a lot of salt in winter. What we pay would probably not make much sense compared to prices in the US. They usually have the car for two days. It includes removing wheels, wheelarches and so on. They also clean the car prior to proofing and...

    Preemptive Rust proofing and prevention

Agree, I had mine rust proofed as part of the purchase, so when I picked it up at the dealer it was all done. Like in Sweden, here in Denmark aftermarket rust proofing is used a lot.

Is Mazda's upcoming CX-30 on your shopping list?

I think you've missed the main point with the CX-30. It's not designed specifially for the US market but more for the European and Japanese markets, where it slides in quite nicely between the CX-3 and the CX-5. And if it follows the options from the new 3, we'll get every engine with either...

    Side to Side Swiveling Headlights

According to the German pricelist, the CX-3 has 11 per side (though I believe it started out with 4 or something like that).

    Side to Side Swiveling Headlights

With fear of derailing the thread a bit, do you know how many LEDs are used on the different Mazda models with ALH? They've changed the numbers of LEDs over the years I believe.

Is there a difference in Factory Stereos

If you have the Bose sound system it will say so on the speakers in the front doors. And you'll have a Bose sub in the boot.

Is Mazda's upcoming CX-30 on your shopping list?

I think in here Europe, the CX-30 will target the Nissan Quashqai, Opel Grandland, Renault Kadjar and the like. The X1, GLA and Q3 are in a different segment and a bit more expensive and more on price with the CX-5.
