    2016~2023 CX-9 Brake Life

Rears could go faster if you ride cruise a lot. Not 100% sure if Mazda does that, but it is pretty common for a cruise to break on the downhill to stay on the set limit. I don't think there is any other option for a gas car.

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

At the same time it would be worse scenario if such a class action will flip Mazda's direction towards another boring Toyota/Nissan. There absolutely must have some execs steering that way )

CX-9 Left tail light replacement questions

Thanks @sm1ke for tips and caveats. Got it replaced, relatively easy job. Seems like 16-19 years have the same tail light design. Props to Mazda for no-BS connector (unlike Subaru). It was easy to disconnect but still tricky to connect the new one due to angle and hole is too small. The trick...

CX-9 Left tail light replacement questions

Got a strange hit&run damage to my cx-9. Something damaged only lift gate door near the license plate (few scratches) and broke the left tail light. Nothing else. The tail light is broken clean so I was thinking to just find the part and replace. Tail lights seems to be available on Ebay etc...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Got this damage fixed. An old dude in CRV backed up when my wife was driving by. At least no hiccups with insurance (Geico) and no excessive wait on parts.

    2016~2023 Consumer Reports - 2020 CX-9

No offense guys, but all those individual examples are simply survivorship bias. Yes, every two tears as a general rule sound like overkill, especially if the climate is dry and no mountains driving. Personally, I think it is worth doing every 4-5 years. And 100% if buying a used vehicle. Does...

Mazda 2.5L Turbo - Oil Fuel Dilution Issues?

Nope. I gave up since the good dealership nearby started to ignore me. Others are further away and I did not bother. Now I'm guessing, they might be dealing with people that require engine replacements... so it's unlikely they have enough loaners for a guy with some harmless oil dilution :) So...

Turbocharger information that was a bit alarming...

I have a natural setup to test this for the last 7 years. I live on a hill and every time a get home its a steep uphill for half a mile. then 10 sec of a minor uphill and 10-20 sec of idle rolling and parking before i shut off the car. It is naturally hard to break 30sec rule too badly...

    Oil Analysis

TBN at 8.7 looks waay too good for 6k miles in turbo engine. Viscosity looks a bit optimistic as well :)

    2016 CX-9 Oil Analysis

Low flashpoint and lowish viscosity could be a sign of fuel dillution of bit more than 1% that they guestimate. But it's good to see there is no impact at this mileage.

How reliable has your CX-9 been?

2019 cx-9 with just 20k miles. So far worst reliability out of 4 different cars with turbo Di engines I had or helped to maintain. Most importantly got an issue that required towing out of nowhere. I try to know and maintain my cars well so I can rely on them in long trips - therefore this is...
