Car and Driver: Every 2019 Compact Crossover SUV Ranked from Worst to Best

Nice to have chosen correctly! Years ago I got a 2007 Honda CR-V and I felt at the time that was a great vehicle. This time, I'm seeing lots of 2018/2019 CX-5s on the road. Mazda really hit it out of the park. Looking forward to an electric CX-5!

Question for 2019 CX-5 owners about wipers

If I never asked the question on this forum, I'd think it was a design flaw in the wipers and who knows how much money I'd end up spending! Instead just $3 for the glass cleaner!

Question for 2019 CX-5 owners about wipers

Thanks for the advice about cleaning the film off using Windex! It worked. Now if I can only instruct Mazda not to run my car through their wash again...

Question for 2019 CX-5 owners about wipers

I'm having consistent wiper judder even after having the dealer replace the initial set of inserts due to sun hardening. Now the rainy season has started and today's performance was awful, just consistent judder with front and back and I have no idea why given the car sits in a nice, dry garage...

2019 CX-5 Rain sensing wiper issues

So today was a totally dry day, but on Auto setting, the rear wiper was going for a while, but the front wasn't. What could cause this?

    2017 CX-5 GT wipers suck

I'd be hesitant to spend that kind of money with no guarantee of success.

For now, reinstalling the app works. But who knows what tomorrow will bring.

    2017 CX-5 GT wipers suck

Are the Bosch inserts really that much better than the OEM? I'm really not liking my new OEM wiper blades, they skip across the glass a lot even with lots of water.

    Apple music is busted(Android Auto)

Suddenly yesterday, I can't play anything. It just gets stuck on a 'currently playing' song screen and nothing else works. Other apps like Spotify/Google Play Music work. Phone is Galaxy S10e

    Ordering a CX-5

Also I don't view the CX-5 Signature as just another run-of-the-mill car that you play negotiation games on. It's high enough on the mid-range luxury spectrum that you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. If we're talking about a Toyota Yaris, different game.

    Heads Up

I love the HUD. It shows me the minimal info I need to see + it shows stop signs. Beautiful implementation. I think the CX-5 is the best mass production vehicle Mazda has ever made and the 2020s is going to be huge for them. I wouldn't be surprised if by 2025 there is an all-electric CX-5.

    Ordering a CX-5

I personally didn't negotiate because I didn't feel I had leverage. They only had 1 car on the lot that I wanted and my area doesn't have another dealership that I wanted to try to see if they had the same exact car. So given I didn't want to lose this car and it had almost no mileage on it, I...

    Ordering a CX-5

Better to just hunt inventories of local Mazda dealers until you find the exact VIN you want and pounce! That's what I did.

    No Break-in?

From the owner's manual: Break-In Period No special break-in is necessary, but a few precautions in the first 1,000 km (600 miles) may add to the performance, economy, and life of the vehicle. * Do not race the engine. * Do not maintain one constant speed, either slow or fast, for a long period...

    Heads Up

Cars are getting very complicated and I can see how boomers might be not liking this direction. However Mazda did right with the CX-5, just the right balance of manual controls/HUD and what you have to access in the infotainment system. Thank god Mazda has a normal shifter.
