Opened trunk while changing fob battery!

That wouldn't have made a difference in my case as I was unaware the hatch had been signaled to open from where I was on the other side of the house.

Opened trunk while changing fob battery!

Same thing happened to me when my wife asked me to change the battery in her fob. The car was parked in the garage and I was in my office about 100' or so away, but not far enough to prevent my inadvertently hitting the button and raising the hatch up into the open garage door. Just finished...

These clips just snapped in the trunk...What are they called? 2017 CX-5

You don't know what it's called to find it. Just go to an OEM parts lite like this Liftgate for 2017 Mazda CX-5 | OEM Parts Online and look up "lift gate parts". How about #12 or 13?

These clips just snapped in the trunk...What are they called? 2017 CX-5

Or "trim clips". What is the black plastic piece in the picture that they were apparently securing? Look that up on a Mazda parts site and you may be able to get part nos for the associated clips.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Maybe you should just replace it?^^^ I had a 2013 that I got a mark on and never was able to get it off.

    2025 CX-5 Seat Comfort Concerns

The problem, my friend, is you're just too damned short!;) I've owned a 2013 and now a 2023 CX-5 and Mazda hasn't improved the front center armrest design in all that time. It's just too far back and it's not adjustable. I'm 5'10" (177.8cm) and it's just barely usable with my elbow perched on...

    2025 CX-5 Seat Comfort Concerns

My wife has a ‘23 premium plus and I find the seats pretty pathetic. No thigh support or side bolstering, so you roll around a lot when cornering. I much prefer the seats in my ‘18 Mazda 3 hatch which have a proper bucket-like contour to sink into which holds you in place in turns. IMO, Mazda...

    2016 CX-5 Tailgate leak

I had a 2013 that leaked at the HCSL (high center stop light) after it was improperly installed during a collision damage repair. Other than that, the hatch back doors on these cars are not particularly prone to leakage.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I've had two CX-5s and a 3 and have noticed the same thing. Between 5-10k the engine seems to find its stride. I also change my oil every 5k miles (including the initial change), partly because I drive less than 10k per year.

    Car Battery Registration Reset

That's phenomenal battery life. But knowing how small Mazda OE batteries are, I would have replaced them by now to be on the safe side.

Well with a name like "GrampaSlade", it sounds like it may be your last vehicle period!;)

    Car Battery Registration Reset

You might not say that if you ever owned a BMW whose expensive AGM battery lasted close to ten years. Battery management systems work, but if they do add cost.

2024 Mazda CX-5 GS Cracked plastic trim engine bay

Super glue? Why were you putting a new battery (which is warrantable within the first 12 months of ownership) in a MY24 car?

Mazda CEO says American drivers want ICE vehicles

By that logic, the CX-3 was closer to his description and we all know how that ended!

Mazda CEO says American drivers want ICE vehicles

Really?! And you don't think there's a reason no other manufacturer offers a car like that in the US?

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

My impression of them is they’ll make/sell just about anything they sense a demand for whether there’s a real or only imagined benefit. They seem to tool up quickly and push the product out the door often without adequate development. Compare them to a company like Racing Beat that works closely...
