A Purist’s Perspective - One Day with the 2024 Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo

Hardly the same as F/R curb weight distribution. Here's another AI-generated response to the question "What is the front to rear weight distribution of an AWD Mazda CX-5?" The AWD Mazda CX-5 has a front to rear weight distribution of approximately 56:44. This means that 56% of the vehicle's...

A Purist’s Perspective - One Day with the 2024 Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo

I would question how AI came to that conclusion. I can't find anywhere else on the internet that makes that claim.

A Purist’s Perspective - One Day with the 2024 Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo

Where did you ever get the idea that any CX-5 (turbo or otherwise) could possibly have 50/50 weight distribution!? If anything, the turbo model is even more front end heavy that the NA model due to the added weight of the turbo hardware. Remember, these are essentially FWD vehicles (like your 6)...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Hard to imagine anyone would mistake a CX-50 for a Cx-30 since the former is much closer in size to the CX-5 and the latter is absolutely dinky inside. Last time I took my CX-5 in for service, they gave me a Cx-30 to run an errand in and every time I went to look over my shoulder to the left I...

    2024 CX-5 Steering Shimmy

And then there's this from yesterday's Autoline Daily under the heading "OEMs spend $28 billion/year on warranty" Last year, all the automakers in the U.S., both domestic and import, spent $28 billion on warranty claims. That includes $13.6 billion for labor and $14.7 billion for parts, which is...

    2024 CX-5 Steering Shimmy

It's commonly referred to as "brake rotor warping" which is somewhat of a misnomer as it's actually caused by uneven deposition of brake pad material on the rotor surface. It can happen any time to any vehicle no matter what age and is caused by any number of driving variables. Long and short of...

Upgrade from '23 PP to a '25 PP - Any advantage?

I've owned 2 of these things 10 years apart and there's no reason an SUV with the footprint of a CX-5 shouldn't/couldn't have (at least) decent leg room for rear seat passengers. Never mind a little more usable cargo space. I'm glad to see them finally do the right thing and I seriously doubt it...

Upgrade from '23 PP to a '25 PP - Any advantage?

The real advantage of waiting for a '26 is they finally corrected the 2 problems the car's had since day one: not enough cargo room and (more importantly) terrible rear seat legroom!

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

In my experience, with a completely flat battery in a CX-5, those things aren’t much good. Only way I’ve been able to start is with a jump from another car. Just sayin’
