I've owned 2 of these things 10 years apart and there's no reason an SUV with the footprint of a CX-5 shouldn't/couldn't have (at least) decent leg room for rear seat passengers. The real advantage of waiting for a '26 is they finally corrected the 2 problems the car's had since day one: not enough cargo room and (more importantly) terrible rear seat legroom!
