Alright guys,
What tool is used to get the oil line off of the turbo? I am not actually at my car right now but my friend is trying to do the install and he says that it seems near impossible to remove. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Mike
I was just about to ask the same thing: What measurements are the studs? Thanks in advance, I'm going to be installing this with a custom 3" exhaust this weekend.
Mike
Thanks guys, the night before tip is something I wouldn't have thought of. Also, are the turbo studs something that is specific or could I possibly find those at a hardware store? I'm not trying to cheap out but it would be conveinient in case I don't break any so it would be easy for...
As the topic states I am about to receive my Corksport S+J pipe and and preparing for the install. I have heard that I should get replacement turbo studs because they frequently break during install, is that true? If so, where can I get them? I also purchased the Corksport motor mount inserts...
Thanks man, you comin to the meet at Arundel Mills in MD on Sunday? I am trying my best to get there. Also, with your custom FMIC did your AC line and hot pipe from the IC to the turbo get in the way of eachother? I cracked mine trying to bend it out of the way and I am in need of a shop that...
If I can get off work I'll def be there. Haven't been to any Mazda meets yet, I used to be a VW guy so I'm used to them though:) I love the basketball games at Dave and Busters too so that's an extra bonus.
Mike
Just as the title implies I'm looking for a used Corksport S-pipe for the MSP. At this point I can use any type of discount possible so that I can finish my full turbo back exhaust. Thanks.
Mike
Thanks for the compliments guys, I'll pass that along to my friend he did all the planning and work, I just bought the parts:) I would love to dyno this thing and see what type of power I am getting out of it but I dyno'd my car stock a year or so ago and got major pinging so I am afraid to do...
I finally got the pics of my FMIC install on my laptop and I thought I'd throw some of them up for you guys to see. My friend Joe did some fabricating to create a unique bumper support that would hold my IC. The dimensions of hte core (without endtanks) is 24"x9"x3" and yes I did have to trim...
Haha I'm an idiot, I had no idea this site offered free pic hosting. I'll just put this one up tonight as a teaser. I'll start a new post in a few days once I have everything finalized and I think some people might be suprised on some of the fabricating my friend had to do along the way. BTW...
I'm not an expert by any stretch but I'm almost positive you will be fine besides possibly some trimming of the bumper for the piping. When I was looking around before buying my IC I used the MAM core as a template because there was no cutting of anything serious involved. As it turns out, my...
Yeah I guess you are right, he was just trying to help in his own way. I was hoping that through the help of the people on the board I would be able to fix it without going to a shop thats why I wasn't too happy about him saying to just go to a shop. Oh well, it's all good. Be very careful of...
Thanks for the help guys, I used a freon kit with a dye in it and sure enough there were three pinhole sized leaks on the high pressure line. I am trying to patch it now but if that doesn't work it is <<gulp>>125 BUCKS from the stealership. Lets pray it works! Thanks again.
Mike
Thanks for some constructive help guys, apparently I probably f'ed my compressor up because I tried to turn on the AC when I didn't have any pressure in the system (although I didn't know that because I had no idea I had a leak). The instructions on the AC recharge kit say to blast the AC fully...
There are no kinks at all, like I said we moved the line like 1/4 inch maybe. If there was a leak wouldn't you hear it leaking since it is pressurized when I'm trying to refill it? And thanks for the congratulations comment, but that is not helping me at all and for all you know it might be...
I have recently installed a FMIC and had to bend the high pressue AC line ever so slightly and ever since my AC has not been working. It would not even kick on yesterday although after I tried a recharge kit it will kick on but be very lukewarm/warm still. One odd thing I have noticed is that...
Does your AC even kick on? Mine won't even turn on and the only thing I have done recently has been bent one of the AC lines VERY slightly to make room for FMIC piping. I was about to post a new topic but this was the first one and I thought I'd chime in here.
Mike
Thanks for the input guys/gals? We have decided that it wouldn't be worth it once we got under the car and took a look. Can't wait to get the piping done:)
Mike
UPDATE: We mounted the IC yesterday just to test fit it and it looks amazing. We did have to mangle the metal bumper support but my friend who is doing the piping is going to put some extra support to it just to make it as strong as possible. The only trimming of the bumper needed was to...
