If they can supercharge a BRZ, they can do a CX-5

All valid points people. I doubt Mazda will offer and FI solution as thats not their priority. As far as aftermarket goes? I doubt that as well. We can't even get Corksport to make us springs let alone all the research and design that would go into making an FI kit for an engine that probably...

If they can supercharge a BRZ, they can do a CX-5

If Mazda made another Awd turbo 6 speed i would as well find money to buy. In this car there's so much room between the engine and firewall its almost begging for a turbocharger. With its high compression you wouldn't be able to run much boost and would definitely have to run premium fuel. But...

    Complete CX-5 Wheel Specs

you should be fine with 225 on an 8 inch wheel. I ran a that on my six for a bit. Its just a little stretch.

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

Cool beans on the sway bar. You guys really need some springs to go along with it. I figure making this car faster is a no go so may as well make it handle really good.

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

Corksport should get some in stock for sure. I, at this point, may as well wait till after christmas. Its then i intend to stock pile parts for a spring install day. Maybe i'll even warm up to an intake by then. Maybe a group buy on H&R springs? Or better yet corksport springs. How's that sway...

    Aftermarket intakes, who has one?

The only option seems to be Corksport. Does anyone have one installed on their CX-5? How does it perform? Is there a noticeable loss in low end torque? This garnered alot of off topic discussion on another thread. Information that could be useful to others in the future but tough to find since...

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

Thanks for the informative post, as it is factual. My gripe for an intake on this engine is what low end torque one may lose to pick up power in the upper rpm's. This is yet to be discovered until you have it on the car because it cant be measured on a dyno. This topic needs its own thread.

$30 fix for speakers on Sport model with big payback.

So there's power going to those wires? Wonder how this effects the impedance if that wire on the dash is paralleled or series wired to the door speaker.

$30 fix for speakers on Sport model with big payback.

So you just wired the tweeters to the wires that were already there?

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

Geez we got way off topic with this intake stuff guys and gals. Maybe the subject deserves its own thread? But this one here is about lowering springs. And unless corksport makes some, i'll be buying H&R springs. Maybe corksport can get a group buy going if they dont make springs. Either way...

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

While i agree with you in this instance and with this engine. I disagree otherwise. This engine was optimized to promote best fuel economy. And certainly, the exhaust and intake were designed well to contend with this and fit within packaging constraints, sound levels, and most importantly cost...

    Ride confort 17" vs 19"

No one else has pointed out the increased rotational mass of the 19" over the 17". If your concerned with the power of the car, going with big heavy 19's is not gonna help. The 17's may not have the look but they'll ride better and wont dog down the motor as much. Rotational mass has a huge...

Gotta have a light weight wheel for it. And it don't get much better or cheaper than rpf1's. And i like they're generic look too.

    Manual CX-5 has launch contol???

Lol! When i got my 5 each wheel was inflated over 40psi. Totally different things for sure. Agreed. While i to think this is more of a safety measure for keeping people from flooring it to redline and dumping the clutch, that still puts it in line with a launch control system. Revs are...

Manual transmission rev hang on 2 to 3 shift

I paid close attention to this yesterday and i can't say i noticed it to be different from 2nd to 3rd. Or any gear at any rpm for that matter. When i push the clutch in the revs hang there for a sec then drop. No matter how hard or soft i drive the car.

Manual transmission rev hang on 2 to 3 shift

Thats a good point. Could be a dual mass flywheel like the speed 6 has.
