If Mazda made another Awd turbo 6 speed i would as well find money to buy. In this car there's so much room between the engine and firewall its almost begging for a turbocharger. With its high compression you wouldn't be able to run much boost and would definitely have to run premium fuel. But...

you should be fine with 225 on an 8 inch wheel. I ran a that on my six for a bit. Its just a little stretch.

Corksport should get some in stock for sure. I, at this point, may as well wait till after christmas. Its then i intend to stock pile parts for a spring install day. Maybe i'll even warm up to an intake by then. Maybe a group buy on H&R springs? Or better yet corksport springs. How's that sway...

The only option seems to be Corksport. Does anyone have one installed on their CX-5? How does it perform? Is there a noticeable loss in low end torque? This garnered alot of off topic discussion on another thread. Information that could be useful to others in the future but tough to find since...

Thanks for the informative post, as it is factual. My gripe for an intake on this engine is what low end torque one may lose to pick up power in the upper rpm's. This is yet to be discovered until you have it on the car because it cant be measured on a dyno. This topic needs its own thread.

While i agree with you in this instance and with this engine. I disagree otherwise. This engine was optimized to promote best fuel economy. And certainly, the exhaust and intake were designed well to contend with this and fit within packaging constraints, sound levels, and most importantly cost...

I paid close attention to this yesterday and i can't say i noticed it to be different from 2nd to 3rd. Or any gear at any rpm for that matter. When i push the clutch in the revs hang there for a sec then drop. No matter how hard or soft i drive the car.

Thats a good point. Could be a dual mass flywheel like the speed 6 has.
