SOLD: please delete JB4 for Mazda CX-5 2.5T $495+ shipping method of your choice. This has the latest MAF connection not available on earlier models. This cost $529 new, plus $140 for the Bluetooth kit. Traded in my ‘20 Signature last Monday, otherwise I was very happy with the additional...

Off Topic Forester XT work log

Great looking Subie! I really miss my ‘04 XT w/ manual. 0-60 in 5.3 and the 1/4 in 13.8 stock. It’s a shame Subaru abandoned the philosophy of the 2nd gen Forester XT. Think of what a modern XT would do if it had evolved from there.

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

I zip tied mine to the intake tube.

An RDX Type S would be VERY compelling. They also have one of the best performance oriented AWD systems.

If I was holding out another year or two the CX-70 would definitely be on my radar. The inline 6 is a big reason I’m switching to BMW. If Mazda does it right I think we’ll see a big shift in the people cross shopping Mazda.

I haven’t had the opportunity to do a 0-100 run. Honestly, I don’t know how many times I’ve had it over 100. I’m not a fan of the CX-5’s high speed stability. My old CX-7 felt much more planted.

It was -6 and there was some salt residue on the road. No brake boost, I just let off the brake and mashed the gas. I wasn’t even trying for a good time, I was more interested in testing the software update in sub zero temps. Making sure Mazda didn’t just move the threshold down as opposed to...

Edit: Add the Subaru Forester XT to the list of fun, reliable, and affordable crossovers that manufacturers have abandoned. Stock, those things were running 13.8 in the 1/4 back in ‘04. I absolutely abused mine for 103k miles. Only needed brakes and fluid changes. And tires of course.

Your annual mileage is really working against you. As noted, the operating cost on the Germans grows exponentially as the mileage goes up. It’s a shame Infiniti abandoned the FX, and Acura hasn’t released a more potent RDX. Those would be two options that offer performance, reliability, and a...

That is the exact opposite of what I expected. I figured reliability would be its weakest link.

That’s a question for your service advisor.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Going with typo. It was between 10-13 degrees Fahrenheit today and power felt good in all 1st and 2nd gear scenarios. It’ll be -3 when I leave work tonight. I’ll confirm again.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

It’s fixed! Just got my car back from the dealership, and based on feel and engine sound I’m going to say all 250hp are present and accounted for.

It’s funny, you replaced your old CX-5 with the new 2.5T CX-5, upgraded to the Prime, realized that while it was an improvement it still wasn’t as enjoyable to drive as you’d like. Now you’re getting the car you really want. The car you’re actually going to enjoy driving. In my case I put down...

I was considering the Stelvio before I bought my Signature. Unfortunately the nearest Alfa dealership is an hour away. Practicality and convenience won that time.
