    New 2024 CX-90 PHEV is officially a lemon. Researching what to do next

    You should read the warranty carefully and fight that. I have never seen anywhere that there was a limited amount of transfers for the warranty. Your local laws may also help there. Honestly based on your experience with the previous dealer that didn’t want to touch it anymore, i don’t think...

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

    Car and driver did a good review of them here: What I liked in the review is that it is the first time that i see a review that compares all-weather tire to dedicated summer tire and dedicated winter tires (scroll to the end of the review). Because they are often the best in reviews in their...

    What does 2021.5 model year mean?

    All info above is correct. 2021.5 was only in Canada. In short, the US got the new screen and new infotainment in 2021, but Canada didn’t. 6 months later they rolled out the 2021.5 in Canada, which brought the new screen and infotainment system from the US 2021 model. 2021.5 is a Canadian...

    2016 -> 2020 CX-9 Retrofit

    Squarer i guess. It seems like the base is the same width and the extra screen space is on the top. But if you like it, definitely go for it.

    2016 -> 2020 CX-9 Retrofit

    If you stay with the same infotainment versions I dont know if anyone has done it with the CX-9, but on the Miata it has been done to install the version with wireless apple carplay. https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=739206&page=4 The Canadian 2021 is the only CX-9 that came with the...

    Small wraps for paint chips

    If you have already painted over the chip then I dont think wrapping it will slow down rusting. The new rusting on area that touch up has been applied typically comes from under the touch up paint where the metal has previously been exposed. Wrap on car prevents paints chip from happening, but...

    Stuck in ACC mode?

    To me it would make sense that it would be the shifter. The way the shifter and push button works is that if you turn off the car while in Drive, the engine shuts down but stays in ACC mode. If you are in park, then engine and the car shuts off. So if the car doesn’t know you are in park, it...

    New CX-5 pulls to the right even though alignment is good

    You should bring it back to the dealer and have them test drive it. If they say it is normal you can ask them to take a drive in a another cx-5 to compare. Get them to decide to do another alignment or to suggest a solution. That way you won’t be stuck with the bill. Ho see them and just say...

    New CX-5 pulls to the right even though alignment is good

    It might just be the slope of the road. Most road slopes to the right for water drainage. Some cars are more sensitive to it than others. Try it on the left lane of a divided highway or in a long parking lot and see if it still pulls to the right. Other reasons the car could pull to one side...

    TPMS not installed

    I don’t have TPMS on my winter wheels on my 2018 CX-9. No issues other than the light on the dash remaining on. For me that is only 6 month of the year. It is a nice to have and if it was my permanent set i would likely invest in it, but i can live without for 6 months. You might be able to get...

    Backup Sensors Not Working? Hit A Car! :(

    Your Fiat probably has the back up sensors. It is not that Mazda doesn’t do it. It is just not equipped on your CX-5. My 2018 CX-9 GT has the parking sensors rear and front. And more recent models also have the smart city brake assist-rear, which will apply the brakes automatically if it detects...

    What have you done to your CX-9 today?

    I have never had this good a mileage in my own 2018 CX-9, but 10.5 does seem a bit high if it is steady speed. However, because 7s is such a low number for this vehicle, any kind of additional traffic, slow down/ acceleration or idling would easily change the number from 7 to 9-10s.

    Backup Sensors Not Working? Hit A Car! :(

    It only picks objects or persons that are moving across the rear (from left to right). Hence the name of “rear cross traffic alert”. It is meant to pick up on things that are outside of your peripheral vision in your blind spot and moving towards you when you are looking backward and reversing...

    Dawn and Dusk driving with no tail lights

    Depending on the year of your car, the lights On dim the dashboard if it is screenbased and the infotainment screen at night (so that they don’t blind the driver). By leaving them on in the day, they are dimmer than they should and can be harder to see in bright daylight. Auto works really...

    CX-5 on a diet?

    Already did but i guess you missed it. “Fast FC04 Wheel 17x8 = 17.40lbs - Equivalent mass = 11.027kg (24.25lbs) If you had the same weight wheels in 20 inch (effect of rim diameter change only) 17.40 lbs wheel in 20 inch diameter. --- equivalent mass = 12.230kg per wheel (26.906lbs) so that is...

    CX-5 on a diet?

    Time for some math. Disclaimer, I honestly expected the difference to be higher, but I stand corrected. There is difference nonetheless. Using my CX-9 as an example, going from 20 inch (OEM size) to the minimum size of 17 inches, both with Fast FC04 wheels (normal aftermarket wheel, nothing...

    CX-5 on a diet?

    I was alerted to this with my old Ford Edge, when Motortrend reported that the 2011 Ford Edge sport with 308 hp and 22inch wheels was slower by 0.5 sec than the lower model Ford Edge SEL with 285 hp and 18 inch wheels. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2011-ford-edge-test/ I never actually...

    CX-5 on a diet?

    I love the side project and the passion behind it, although i doubt it makes as much difference as claimed. To put it in context, you saved a little less weight than the average passenger weight. That being said and to keep it on topic of weight reduction recommendations for acceleration and...
