A C clamp probably won't work because the calipers work on a worm gear system. Not sure what to do if you stripped the hex key.....sorry about your luck.

I have the same problem....i thought it was the release bearing but i'll try the grease fix first. It doesn't usually start until i've been driving for a bit and it gets warmed

Crazy....my MP3 just started doing it today but it does have 140,000kms on it....not sure what it would be....same clicking noise when i depress the clutch in and out....almost like a ratchet sound
