    Bad Piston rings.....

I am pretty sure i have nailed down the issues with my car. Unfortunatly it looks like my turbo took a dump and i will prob replace the center assy and I have virtually no compression after replacing everything from the head gasket up. I am assuming its the rings since I now blow blue smoke all...

    misfire/stumble

It was a remanufactured head from a company on ebay that had 1000's of positive feedback. Everything was supposed to be "checked out". It was supposed to be machined and tested. I did have a code for cylinder 1 misfire that went away on its own. Are there codes for individual cylinders?

    misfire/stumble

Quick background, my sister in-law over heated my car and ended up blowing up the radiator. i replaced the radiator to find out i now needed to do a head gasket as well. i then replaced the head gasket, head (i screwed up the stock one by forgetting to prime the oil pump), t-stat, timing belt...

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

update......... i retimed everything AGAIN but this time i only tightened the tensioner bolt to just past snug. the car ran without shutting off in my driveway for about 30 min and then i went for a drive with it running pretty good. i did not go very far and will leave it running in my driveway...

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

OK, so today i dug into it again. I went through and retorqued the cam bolts to 100 in/lbs as suggested ealier in the thread, i retimed it again for it to run for about 5 seconds before it craps out. i tear it down and put the old tensioner in, retime it again and then it runs for about 12...

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

I have not had any time to tear back into it yet but I am thinking of putting the tensioner belt bolt to snug (just to see how it runs with just the spring for tension). My other thought is, is there supposed to be a washer or something to help keep movement of the tensioner with the need of...

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

Right now it's just a straight pipe with no cats no resonator no muffler and very loud kinda like a rally car. with that set up and a factory muffler a has a nice purr to it but not too loud. if you can find some clips on youtube with either borla or magna flow sounds the same as the flowmaster.

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

I could get 1 but I no longer have that flowmaster if that's what you're looking for. It had an awesome tone, not too ricey not too loud.

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

They moved pretty freely with the use of a wrench. But I will go double check that again as I am out of ideas.

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

Yes I replace my head gasket and head. I do not have the specs in front of me but everything was torqued to spec and I primed everything by cycling the engine over with no fire or fuel

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

^^^^^^ That is how I set the timing. I first lined up the marks on the crank to block, then the cam gears and then put the belt in place on the tensioner. once everything was veryfied in-place i put some tension (snug with some deflection) on the pulley toward the front of the car using the...

After Timing Belt Install=Loss of Timing/Stalling

IIRC it is a solid block with a tube/pin for the bolt. The bearing is just on the o.d. for the pulley and belt.
