Mazdaspeed Protege Build - Feels Good To Be Back

Nice! I always did like the Spicy Orange. Interior looks a little crusty. Hope it cleans up good. Body relatively rust free? Looking forward to see what you do with it.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I started using that stuff on my Mini. Right after application, it looks great. I'm anxious to see how long it lasts. I'm hoping with another application, it will last through the winter.

With minor suspension mods, the little 5 is a great handler! Looks like you had a fun day (y)

Changing HID Bulbs on CX-5 Adaptive Headlights...Help

The silver "connector" is the HID igniter. To remove it from the bulb, twist firmly to the left and it will pop off. There are two tabs on the bulb that hold it on. The igniter has spring clips that hold it to the bulb. If you try to just pull it off, you'll break something.

MAZDA EZ-6 confirmed as a truly global model

It is a great looking car. But, unfortunately, not coming the the USA unless they can build them somewhere outside China.

    BMW M2 3.0L I6 and Mazda's 2.5T

https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-models/m2-coupe/overview.html Yes, inline 6, twin turbo, 473hp. Its a completely different engine from the 2.5 Mazda turbo engine. For one, Mazda's 2.5 turbo is a 4-cylinder... Also, Mazda doesn't go for big horsepower numbers, like BMW's M cars.

    EDM 323F Sportive Headlights -- In-depth Look

I tried to find some pictures of the modifications, but there are some gaps in my photo stream from back then. I also never ran them with halogens. I used a plug-n-play HID kit. I liked the brightness, but the beam pattern stunk. The best headlight output I ever had on that car was with the...

    EDM 323F Sportive Headlights -- In-depth Look

Our 2008 Mazda5 with HID had the level switch. Even with the car loaded down, the headlights never appeared to need adjusting... I always applauded your dedication to using OEM parts on your cars. When I had the Protege5 headlight swap on my sedan, I drilled out the "city light" hole and...

TheMAN's Turbo LHD Sport20...err MSP Conversion

Awesome! Glad to see you're still running around. Makes me wax nostalgic about my old Protege. I too purchased the ES because I couldn't swing the MP3 at the time.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

What kind of malarkey insurance company will only provide coverage within 15km of home?!? I would start complaining, or at least reading your policy deeper. Plus, if you were rear-ended, fault would be placed on the other driver...

2003 Mazda Protege 2.0L Sudden motor stall while driving...Help

Something is seriously broken. The timing belt should be turning those gears, which are the camshaft gears. Time for a new engine, or at the very least, a tear down.

Question on 2014 CX-9 Touring - Buy or Pass?

Our CX-9 has 214k miles, and hasn't had any water pump or cooling issues. I would be more concerned with the transfer case, if its an AWD model.

    Mazda 626 Manifold Swap question (2003 Protege/MP3)

Skip the 626 manifold. You'll lose some high end flow, and you'll lose the VICS chamber. Keep the Protege manifold, and remove the VTCS butterflies at the head ports. The MP3 manifold kept the VICS, but deleted the VTCS. By running an MP3 ECU, you want to keep the VICS.

    18x10.5 +12 Wheels on a Mazdaspeed6?

You're going to have a ton of poke with that wheel. What size tires were you thinking? OEM wheels are 215/45-18 on a 18x7+55. Going to a 18x10.5+12 is going to bring the wheel out by over 3 inches...

Random Repeating Engine Misfires (2002 Mazda Protege)

P0171 is a lean code, and P0106 is a MAP sensor error. Maybe the MAP sensor is bad, or going bad? Or, you have an air leak in the manifold somewhere?

    P0117 and P0304 Codes (Protege5)

210°F is probably a little bit high for those engines. Sounds like the cap helped. I would maybe plan on replacing the thermostat. It might be starting to fail, and isn't opening like it should. I thought normal engine temperature is ~190-195°F

    ND MX-5 2016 Miata Club 6sp - grinding/friction noise not bearings

Did you replace the passenger wheel bearing? Usually you can determine if it is a wheel bearing and what side by driving the car from side to side, loading and unloading the wheels. As you load a bad bearing, it should get louder. Also, are you a member over at miata net?
