Honda released the CRV a year earlier than the CX-5, and they just refreshed it with the 2020 model. Im hoping the CX5 gets updated next year.

When is Mazda going to offer their own extended warranty? When I get a CX-5, I'd love to get a warranty for it but the idea of having to go thru a 3rd party seems like a hassle. With Honda, you're given a limited amount of time(think 90 days) to get an extended warranty from the time of purchase.

I would get the 2018. There have been quite a few recalls on the new Mazda3. Also the new 3 uses cylinder deactivation which has already had a recall in the CX-5.
