Theyre building the better product for most SUV shoppers, not for me necessarily. Im single and an enthusiast, so CX5 would work for me. If I had a wife and kids Id get a RAV4 Hybrid. More space, way better MPG, like better long term reliability. No turbo or cylinder deactivation to deal with.

Doesnt have anything to do with buyers getting a Honda or Toyota due to past rep. If thats what you believe, Id love to hear an explanation on how a company like Subaru which has less dealers in the states has had 10 consecutive years of sales increases and sells twice as many vehicles as Mazda...

Agreed. And the whole idea of people buying a car for looks is hilarious. Is the CRV the best looking vehicle in the class? How about that ugly last generation RAV4? Both the CRV and RAV4 get better fuel economy, better safety tech and more cargo room. Meanwhile the sexy Mazda vehicles sit on...

If people cared most about these 3 things, they would buy a car and not an SUV. MotorTrend(and KBB) still think the CRV is the best in the class. You think they picked it for it looks? And Mazda has been selling vehicles In the states since the 50s. Theyre not some new car company that no one...

Their vehicles IMO just aren't very practical compared to the competition. CX-5 has cramped interior, below average rear leg room and cargo, middle of the road MPG, seats are uncomfortable on long drives. New Mazda3 is expensive compared to the competition, middle of the road MPG, cramped rear...

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

Supposedly the 2020 gets a hood blanket to help with engine noise. Anyway I will be in the market for a new car next Nov and I really hope Mazda gives the CX-5 a refresh if they don't ill likely get a RAV4 Hybrid. I don't really see how they can afford to not give it a refresh considering the...

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

https://youtu.be/z3IN0UcxX5s According to the video, the Turbo gets just over 20 MPG in real world driving and the Hybrid gets just over 40.

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

More like a 20 MPG difference between the Turbo and the Hybrid. Youre essentially getting twice as much distance in one tank by getting the Hybrid over the Turbo. And the city driving matters because Hybrids offer better fuel economy when driving in the city vs highway. That and both of these...

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

Hope Mazda has some kind of plan for 2020. The CX-5 sales are going to get cannibalized by the RAV4/CRV Hybrids. Toyota is also coming out with a PHEV RAV4 next year. Gas is almost $4 here and since most people live in urban areas where gas prices are usually higher, MPG matters. Dont know why...

    Acceleration Times 227HP Vs 250Hp

Hope Mazda has something up their sleeve for the 2021 CX-5. Looks like Toyota plans on unveiling the 2021 RAV4 PHEV at the LA Auto show next month. They say it will be the most powerful RAV4 yet. Toyota had a V6 RAV4 a few years ago that went 0-60 in the low 6s, so if this can beat that and get...

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

Honda released the CRV a year earlier than the CX-5, and they just refreshed it with the 2020 model. Im hoping the CX5 gets updated next year.

Potential 2020 CX-5 Spotted in Mazda Hofu

So was the 2017 CX-5 considered a 'all new design' or a refresh of the 2016 CX-5? Iv'e heard a few different things. I want to buy a CX-5 Sig but not until they update a few things(like the god awful infotainment and blurry cameras)

    CX-5 vs Lexus NX

Needs an RDX comparison, NX is long in the tooth already. Not surprised it beat the NX.

    Extended Warranty

When is Mazda going to offer their own extended warranty? When I get a CX-5, I'd love to get a warranty for it but the idea of having to go thru a 3rd party seems like a hassle. With Honda, you're given a limited amount of time(think 90 days) to get an extended warranty from the time of purchase.

2017~2025 Mazda Sales.... Not So Good

Mazda interiors are just too small compared to the competition, and they offer middle of the road MPG. Look at the RAV4 hybrid for example, Toyota cant keep enough in stock and you will likely see the same thing with the CRV hybrid. The safety systems(pedestrian braking/lane keep assist) also...

Huge price difference: 2019 vs 2018 Mazda 3

I would get the 2018. There have been quite a few recalls on the new Mazda3. Also the new 3 uses cylinder deactivation which has already had a recall in the CX-5.
