I agree that Facebook loses a lot of information. I still peruse the forums looking for old or lost information. I still get a good, inspiring feeling when I read someone else build thread on a forum. I'm still holding out hope.

Get a voltmeter or a test light and see if any power goes to the dimmer switch. You could try bypassing the dimmer switch and connecting the wires directly if you're comfortable doing that kind of work. If the dash stays lit even after you turn on your headlights, then you dimmer switch need...
Have you tried pulling any trouble codes? Check your filter, look for vacuum leaks, check your spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coils, make sure all the sensors under the hood are connected and that wires aren't cut or torn.
