    2.5 turbo may be coming

I'd much rather have the low- to mid-range torque than have to rev the crap out of it to get the horses. Unless you're planning on tracking it, which I am not, there's no place to take advantage of that upper end performance. 0-80 and throwing it into and out of corners is where I get my...

    2.5 turbo may be coming

According to this article, Mazda wants to know if people are interested. I'm inquiring into how to reach them to let them know I most definitely am. For now, I dug up this email address: MazdaCustomerAssistance@mazdausa.com. If I come up with something better, I'll post. Likewise, if...

Mazda cx5 rough idle at stop sign/light

Mine only had a few thousand miles on it -- sometimes they just get a bad coil. Curiously, I had a coil go in the car before this one, too. Haven't had a lick of trouble with anything else since.

Has your CX5 ever not gotten you up your driveway?

Mazda cx5 rough idle at stop sign/light

I had this happen last year on my 2017. Idled slow, every few seconds almost felt like it would stall. Went on like that for a few weeks before the yellow CEL eventually came on, but it otherwise seemed to be running fine. Ended up being a coil that had to be replaced. Definitely take it to the...

    What new Mazda is coming?

If you don't mind driving a sled, knock yourself out. Some people will sacrifice a little space to feel something a little less yawn- inducing when they get behind the wheel. Rear seat and storage capacity aren't always at the top of everyone's priority list.

Car and Driver 2019 CX5 article.

When my lease was almost up on my 3 last year, I would gladly have gotten another -- if AWD had been an option. I test drove a CX3, which almost ticked all the boxes, but just didn't quite cut it compared to the CX5 (or another 3). Now that AWD is coming to the 3, I'm pretty sure I know what...

Car and Driver doesnt seem to think the RAV4 beats the CX-5

Nothing wrong with brand loyalty. It's not like you go out and buy a new car every day (not most of us, anyway) -- it's a big purchase, and usually your most reliable information is your own experience. If you've had good experience with a brand and you've been happy with your purchases, deep...

    Snow Removal/Start..Stop button.

I've been using a snowbrum for years and love it for removing heavy snow. It's much better with the deep stuff than a brush. No scratches or other damage to the paint finish that I've ever seen, and my wife and I have both used them in several vehicles over the years. I still keep a brush...

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

I've found dryer sheets stuffed anywhere you can stuff them do a better job than moth balls at keeping those little bastards out of my car.

2019 2.5L Turbo, 310lbs of torque and towing capability?

Vehicle weight, suspension, brakes all have to be factored into what defines a safe maximum towing weight. CX-5's base weight is still only 3655.

    Live 2019 Mazda3 Reveal

This news is glorious. I'm one year into a 3-year lease on a CX-5, which I only moved up to because I couldn't get AWD in a 3. I traded in a 3 GT hatch for this one, a I kinda miss the more compact package. I heard about the 2.5 turbo being available in the CX-5 and thought for sure that would...

is the CX-5 a feminine car?

If my red CX5 is a feminine car, then I guess I'm a girlie-man. And proud of it.

Engine vibration waiting at red light

I don't think so -- mechanical things fail. If they were regular occurrences, I'd be concerned; but they seem mostly isolated. I had a coil go bad big time in MINI at under a year old -- 3 cylinders, limp mode, sounded like cylinders were swapping parts. I had another MINI two days when the...

Engine vibration waiting at red light

Bad coil! Strange, because I've had coils go before on other cars and they would run like total crap, usually on just 3 cylinders. This time it only idled rough after it warmed up, but regular driving around felt fine. Anyway, all fixed now, and nice and clean, too.

Engine vibration waiting at red light

A/C was off, as was the windshield defroster. Interestingly, though, this morning I had the defroster on and the problem wasn't as bad. Still there, but not quite as pronounced. Edit: Well, the yellow CEL came on this afternoon, so something is obviously amiss. Going to the dealer tomorrow...
