Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

No, the base Q7 does not have all the same features of the Signature CX-9. No advanced safety (radar cruise, lane departure, collision avoidance, etc) no navigation, no 20" wheels, no Nappa leather. You can add a few of these to the base Premium, but still no advanced safety tech available. To...

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

I could list 50 features of importance before memory mirrors. Let's just all forget the numerous shortcomings the 2nd gen cured and focus on something as minor and virtually irrelevant in the car decision process such as memory mirrors. Gen 1 is a dinosaur compared to what's on the market...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

    It's not an Aisin transmission. It's a SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed.

Do You Love Your Mazda? Ditch That 0W-20 Oil!!!

You need to stop. Please just stop. You have nothing but personal opinions throughout this whole thread. The Mazda MZR (L) does not share the same block with the Skyactiv engines. They are completely different.

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

The 2nd gen definitely lost interior space, particularly is the cargo area. While that bothers me, we haven't seen need for the lost space yet in over a year of ownership.

    2017 CX 9 Customer Reviews

Have you read any of the reviews about the 2013+ Accord? It's a very close match in terms of driving dynamics to the Mazda6. The post before was correct, typical Accord and Altima buyers don't put measurable driving dynamics at the top of their list when shopping, but do believe their car is...

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

I get 25 highway with my AWD CX-9 in the hills of the Northeast. I average 20mpg.

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

Living in the Northeast, with hills and valleys as the common terrain, I can get 27mpg highway in my AWD equipped CX-9. I average 20, with a lead foot. According to real world user data, 2017 CX-9 owners get 22mpg on average and 2017 Q7 V6 owners get 19.3mpg. Whatever your driving habits...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

Unless this motor ends up in a more performance oriented vehicle, I don't see aftermarket companies investing their resources into tuning this engine.

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

But tilting mirrors and a missing seat adjustment make it inferior if you've been reading this thread. Let's not even talk about the vast array of safety features not available in gen 1.

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

I worked for Mazda for over a decade. I have thousands of miles of seat time in every model year of CX-9 and I own a 2016 GT. LED door lights? Ok, how about LED overhead lights and door lights in the 16+? Yes, I have a gripe with the power drivers seat. But, seriously, there is so much more...

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

Be respectful? Respect was paid. The 2016+ has LED high + low beam lights, LED fogs, I-ACTIVSENSE safety suit of tech (08-15 had nothing but BSM), better FE, better infotainment (still lacking in ways compared to competitors), 2nd row USB ports, HUD I'm sorry, but 2016+ was not decontented...

    1st Gen CX-9 versus 2nd Gen Cx-9

The 3.5 in 07 was better than the 3.7 in 08-15? You're out of your mind. With 8more Hp and 25 ft-lbs of torque and the same mpg, the 3.7L was better. BTW, check out Fuelly.com. The 2016+ CX-9 gets was better fuel economy than Gen 1. Also, what features has Mazda taken away year after year...

Just received New 2018 CX-9 Info from Dealer

It makes perfect sense, you just missed my point entirely and took my statement to an area I didn't even bring up. My point was for $10K more, a "luxury" brand should be better. In fact, there are times where they are not. In all, you are paying for the name rather than the content in many...

Just received New 2018 CX-9 Info from Dealer

At a starting price with comparable features at $55,000 or more, it should be better. If Mazda had an extra 10 G's to play with, I'm sure it would be well worth it and something truly awesome.

    2017 CX 9 Customer Reviews

I share your sentiments about the Mazda6, but the current Mazda6 does not ride on the old GG/GY chassis, or a modified version of it. The 2014+ Mazda6 rides on the SKYACTIV Chassis. Also, the SKYACTIV-G engine is not a derivative of the MZR/L engine either.

Just received New 2018 CX-9 Info from Dealer

Those chrome accents don't mean it's a 2018. It could have been accessories added or perhaps something aftermarket. A snap of the VIN would be the tell all. I'm sorry, but that's not proof of an 18 model. The car has been on sale for 14 months and the 3rd model year is already on the street...

CX-9 has won virtually every comparison test

I wouldn't call subaru a niche company. Their sales are driven by where the do business. Where it snows, their market share is way over that it should be for a company that sells 600,000 units annually. What they did do was bet on their AWD and offer everything with it and it's paid off.
