Oil was on the garage floor and he smelled a burning smell. The dealer verified oil was leaking. Also coated the alternator. Dealer said there is a TSB for a batch of bad heads that were improperly cast.

Speaking of engine issues, anyone have a problem with their CX-5’s leaking oil? Apparently there was a casting issue with a specific production of 2.5L’s. Requires engine replacement. A co-worker of mine currently has his 2019 at the dealer awaiting an engine.

Im hoping for a hit too. Would really like to see this brand take off. I just think it’s a miss, mainly because it’s cramped in the rear. Honestly, I don’t think the interior is all that great either.

Sat in one this week. Back seat space is awful and interior quality is deceiving. The simplistic design looks cheap, IMO. Also, parts of the interior are blue? Not sure why. If Mazda wanted a Crosstrek killer, this won’t work. They didn’t learn from the CX-3. This thing is too small.

One two separate occasions, our 2017 CX-9 GT AWD has experienced a SCBS malfunction where the car went into virtual limp mode and engine shuttered. When I turned the car off and restarted, car ran fine. A SCBS malfunction message illuminated in the dash. Anyone else have this issue??

When Mazdas version of a torsion rear (different than a traditional torsion) has proven to work very well and makes the car handle excellent, why would it be a detractor?

Nissan was part owner of Jatco and Subaru and Mazda did use Jatco trannys years ago, but not in all vehicles. Yet, this clown thinks they still do. Subaru and Mazda went solo with in-house transmissions ages ago.

I dont put any value into his reviews honestly. He tends to give more opinions rather than facts based on his years of self proclaimed automotive experience. He still thinks Mazda and Subaru uses Jatco transmissions....good God....this video is riddled with technical errors its embarrassing...

Mine has made that noise too. Havent brought it to the dealer to get looked at tho. When putting in gear and pressing the accelerator, I hear a creak or clunk sound coming from the front end. Is this what you are experiencing? Also, what was the solution?

I think we will see a front end change to something similar to the CX-8. That would make the CX-9 blend in better with the CX-5, Mazda3 and Mazda6.
