I should also mention that it still does this, it wasnt a one time thing..and it now does it in every gear but first...the second i floor, or attempt to floor, the car it bucks, etc...also when idling for a while(idle is smooth btw) and i go to take off..the car bogs, runs like s***...not sure...

I've had my turbo system in and running on my '03 ES for about 30K miles now..all has been well..running a mere 6psi. One day last week, I got a bad knock when accelerating ...car was at around 2psi or so below 4K RPM...it feels like detonation, but no backfire/noise/etc..so more like a misfire...

I ran the MAF on my cold pipe for 30K miles at 6-9psi...no problems until recently..my car is bucking really bad at anything from no boost to 3psi...MAF could be a culprate as it may be going bad and not reading properly..we'll see..

A/F is little leaner than I'd like...it's about 11.9/12(i'd like to see 11.2 or so)...I have boost turned back down to 6.5psi right now and will probably leave it there for a while. The car wasn't boosted right after I bought it..I was one of those, let me see what NA can do kinda guys ..ended...

YEP...that's what sparked my question...I drive...a LOT. I work in the DC area and live about 2hrs south of it, and have been driving 120-200 miles a day for the last four years...two of which were with the protege..it's been a great car, but I also have an '88 RX7 project car that I can't drive...
