What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Thanks. That'd be a great LED upgrade for the weedy trunk light!

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Where did you find the deflectors? I've been thinking about getting some but found them hard to find. Have you noticed if they make more wind noise, or reduce the wind noise? . TIA!

    IamFODI's 2012 Mazda5 6MT: Intro, plans, questions and build

Yeah, I meant the PS 4 AS ! Thanks for all the feedback. As for quieter and longer lasting tire, that's what the Primacy AS was. The CrossClimate, I'm guessing was Michelin idea of a direct replacement.. but dropped the traction rating to B. *Shrugs* I think there's some PS4AS in my future!

    IamFODI's 2012 Mazda5 6MT: Intro, plans, questions and build

First, love the history your sharing. I'm picking up all sorts of info. I have a tire question as my Premier A/S are almost done, but not available in the same size any more. So I want to ask, how are your finding the Pilot Sport 4 and how they're holding up?

    Mazda5 Rear wiper spring tension?

Oh yeah! It's been bugging me a little bit the last few years that even with keeping the curved wiper inserts, the wipe just wasn't as good - especially at the ends. I'm a gonna do this fix this afternoon! Thanks @huesmann !

    New to the Mazda5 family

Hi there. 'nother 5 lover here. Late reply, but haven't stopped by in a while. Sounds wise the head unit's are quite good, mine was Alpine made, and the speaker wiring is good enough - stranded and tinned copper. Swapping out the sh1t stock speakers (oval, paper with a whizzer!) is must do...

    New to the Mazda5 Forum

You are living the dream!! Until family road trips and college runs are done, there's nothing to replace a 5... except a newer 5. The VA sun has been hard at wok on the roof on my 5 since 2007, but a trip to the bodyshop is 1/20th the price of anything close to a do-it-all replacement car...

    2008 Mazda5 Head Unit Died --> Android?

Do what you want but you've been warned already, and here's another: Don't go with crap no-brand Android head units. They are garbage and will drive you nuts. Stick with Alpine, Sony, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine.

Neutral safety switch help? 2007 Mazda3

I see your posting in the M5 forum and signature lists an M3. Before jumping in to replace the microcontroller that drives the dash selector display, I'd simply verify the signalling mechanism from the selector for something broken or out of alignment. All the more possible after someone has...

Upgrading from Mazda5 - Which car?

Only 70k on my 2007 (carpooling preschoolers has turned into college drop-off/pick-ups) but when we do think about replacing it... it's with a later model for the better fuel efficiency.

Need some help from the experts

Body shops, even my Mazda dealer's shop, source replacement parts that way to keep costs down.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Today... finally got to put in LED lamps for dome and maps lights. What a difference! Dome: DE3175WLED by Philips Map (2): 194WLED by Philips I tried replacing the bulb the trunk lamp (same type as dome) but that fitting's captive/switching mechanism caused the bulb to spin a few degrees with...

    Must stop the knocking!!!

Robotaz, That info really helps give some perspective on age and mileage regarding the bushings, thanks.

    Must stop the knocking!!!

Yeah, everything I've read pointed to the bushings. Starting on them first makes sense. As for the dealer... What I was quoted for the rear shocks, I daren't post! Thanks for the help Secondtyme.

    Must stop the knocking!!!

With just 29k on my '07 I was shocked at having had to replace the rear shocks to pass state inspection. The persistent knocking/clonking from underneath has diminished a lot with new KYBs on the rear. The car has been so noisy for so long I was just used to it, but now I want to try resolve it...

2009 Mazda5 Pioneer AVH-P4300 DVD Dimmer Control Issue

I hope you got this fixed up by now! But when I was faced with putting the AVH-3400 in my Mazda 5 the dimmer/illumination confusion came up too. I call Pioneer support and they said the input the 3400 HU was looking for was 12V to dim the HU display... which is, basically, an illumination...

Pio 3400 head unit hook-up questions... this used to be easy!

Okay - Got the HU and steering wheel tie-in in and buttoned up in a rush before a road trip so no pictures sorry. If you've seen the Crutchfield masterguide, it looks like that torn apart! I will say that it wasn't helped or made easy by Pioneer's installation instructions, or the differences...

Pio 3400 head unit hook-up questions... this used to be easy!

Pioneer support told me, on the phone, that the head unit harness Orange/White wire is expecting a 12VDC. The head end presumes this means the car's headlights are on, the dash instrumentation is illuminated, it is dark outside, and the brightness of the display on the head unit should reduced...

Pio 3400 head unit hook-up questions... this used to be easy!

I've been at this all evening and I've come across a gotcha. The Crutchfield pin-outs detailed in this thread... http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123701738-Mazda5-Stereo-Wiring-Information Show the Pin 4 as, "Dimmer." The Metra harness shows Pin 4 as, "Illumination," and wire color...

Pio 3400 head unit hook-up questions... this used to be easy!

It's been about 25 years since I last replaced HUs. These newfangled HUs are a new beast! I'm using the Metra 7903 harness and mating that to the harness from the Pio 3400 and I've got some questions. From lurking about I've know this is the right place to ask! Here goes... Is it so nessecary...
