    Replacing CX-3 Rear Shock Assembly

AWD... wait are they different in the rear? 😂 With the front I had help putting the springs on the new struts. Saw too many memes with springs killing enthusiasts.

    Replacing CX-3 Rear Shock Assembly

After I started to notice this June that the ride was very bouncy, I went to a reputable local indie shop for a general inspection. I was told that the struts/shocks are worn and the passenger side rear was leaking. I had some doubts because of other aspects of the inspection so I chose to DIY...

    Replacing CX-3 Rear Shock Assembly

The rear shocks are easier to replace than the front struts. It took me two hours to DIY (first-time working on shocks). I rented a lift for 4 hours and added 1.5 hours of tech help. In that session I also did one drain/fill of the transmission fluid. It was around $300 I recall. The quote I...

    Mazda3 Engine mount inquiry

I went oem mainly due to fitment concerns. I also figured if the factory components last 155K+ miles, I won't ever need to do this again. 😅 It is not obvious to me though how a professional determines that a mount requires replacement. Only one of them can be inspected easily. The rubber core in...

    Mazda3 Engine mount inquiry

Did you find out more about #3? For me, the last mount was on the driver side for the transmission. It was a real pain to get to. Air box out, battery out, battery tray out... I also had to disconnect the modules from the back of the tray. It has one long bolt going through a bracket on top of...

How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

You are correct. I realized that after posting but thought no one would notice. 😁

    Is a transmission service necessary?

Thank you for the very thorough write-up! Piece is great too for both jobs. Do you remember how long it took? The RTV needs time to cure.

These two rings floating above the filter. Gonna order them anyway, and 16 pan bolts. Can't wait to see how nasty the pan bottom is. https://mazda.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/mazda-transmission-oil-filter-fz0121500

    Is a transmission service necessary?

When you dropped the plan to change the filter on yours, did you also replace the two rubber rings inside?

    Is a transmission service necessary?

Yes, but how dirty? There are fifty shades of dirty. There is normal dirty, and there is your-tranny-is-toast dirty. That, my naked eyes cannot see smh.

    Is a transmission service necessary?

The Op was asking about his other Mazda with 267K, I am just a passer by who feels that for my cx-3, 153K is too many miles on the original fluid. The lab analysis says that it was fine. 😬

The one I circled is marked as seal plate left. You found seal plate right. Either way, you lol because it looks like the top part broke off? I would try to slide it back on.

Hey I was curious so I used Google lens on your image and added cx-9. The top portion of this item below looks vaguely similar. The other thing to try is check the diagrams on the official Mazda parts website. Hope you can put it back from the top. https://www.ebay.com/p/1511241949
