New 2022 CX-5 Turbo deep metallic blue owner

Beautiful blue. Here is my 1st CX5 which was a 2012. I really liked this blue which I believe was only used for the first year. Correct me if I'm wrong in that.

2017~2025 Do rear brakes get more use than front?

Had to replace my rear pads at 46,000. Fronts lasted until 85,000, at which time I also had to reolace pads, and discs all around.

Average MPG less than 20mpg, am I alone?

2015 Touring over 78,829 miles = 28.3 average mpg from pump, 28.6 average from dash. Lowest tank = 21.4 mpg. Quite a few highway miles in those higher figures. Average at 70 MPH with a/c on = 30 - 31 mpg. Have tried tanks with premium, and alcohol free with no appreciable difference in mileage.

    Windscreen washer froze 8-\

Don't most closed systems have a valve that lets air in while whatever is in it is being drawn out?

    Windscreen washer froze 8-\

How does alcohol evaporate from a closed system. Through pores in the plastic container? I had the same problem when we took a trip from Charlotte NC to upper Michigan in the winter. Wiper fluid froze up and I was tailgating trucks to get their road spray to keep the windshield clean. I...

Anyone use Nu Finish or Turtle Wax Ice?

Nu Finish car polish has more of a thick liquid consistency. There is a Nu Finish ceramic spray wax, but I am talking about the car polish which you rub on, let it dry, and then polish it off. It's more work, but longer lasting I believe. "Independent laboratory tests have proven that Nu...

Anyone use Nu Finish or Turtle Wax Ice?

Having used both, Nu Finish would last longer than a spray wax. Spray wax is very good for a quick easy polish. Do a Nu Finish polish, than use the spray between Nu finish applications. I use the Turtle Wax Ice on our black glass range top. Keeps it sparkling.

What happened to the wheels and brakes section?

Yep, on my 2015 the rear pads were replaced at 46,000. The fronts lasted until 86,000 at which point I needed pads, and rotors on all four wheels.

Best rear bumper guard for 2021 Mazda CX-5?

Guards for what? The flimsy thing that they call a bumper nowadays? A modern so called bumper is basically useless. Now if you do want a bumper guard put on one of those big things that are mounted on police cars. Won't look too good though.

Will not lock with key fob or interior button (2016.5 CX-5 Sport)

Looked up the BCM cost on-line out of curiosity. There is a range from $137.76 to $240.14 for OEM.

Will not lock with key fob or interior button (2016.5 CX-5 Sport)

Nice job. I imagine you probably saved a pretty large chunk of money by getting that fixed on your own instead of at a dealer.

Guide How To Disable Daytime Running Lights (instructions)

I pop it into neutral, and apply the emergency brake. When the light turns green, just pop it back into drive, and emergency brake off, and away we go. I usually take off quicker than the people who are in the next lane. Don't even have to apply the brake very hard at all.

We have two passes. Both are in the shaded area, and work fine.

Guide How To Disable Daytime Running Lights (instructions)

Glad that I have a 2015 with a replaceable headlight bulb. Also enjoy the real handbrake, not a glorified park switch. Going on 7 years now with no bulb replacement needed yet.

    Synthetic Oil, oil change interval

I imagine that Mazda branded oil would be the most expensive one.

Battery life for key fob...How long does yours last?

I just replace them when they get low. Like when you have to be really close to the car for the fob to work. They're relatively cheap. Have never paid attention to how long they lasted, and this covers a 9 year period of having a 2013, then my current 2015 Touring. In that time I believe I...

    Synthetic Oil, oil change interval

I just have it, the filter changed, and the tires rotated around 5,000 miles. I may go over it a 1,000 or so, but I figure it is a relatively cheap, but important part of maintenance.
