Thanks, I've checked out the maniac one already, it's only a 140amp whereas the mechman would've been a 220 amp. Also been in contact with one of Ssa's reps and he said they might have a mechman coming out for the protege in the new year product line.

I'm going on not knowing what is compatible by transmissions, engine mounts, and wiring harnesses, but pick an engine, any engine. Chances are, straying from the 1.5 or 1.6 will lead you into needing a new trans and mounts, on top of needing the ecu. It all depends on what kind of work you are...
