I wonder if these “special editions” are a stop gap to add some interest to the fifth year of the current model. And will it soldier on basically unchanged also for 2022 since the rumours are that the “all-new” CX-5 won’t arrive until 2023?

About 16 months for my ‘19 Signature. I was surprised...had gone several years without changing on my ‘08 RDX.

I have a 2019 CX-5 and the LKAS is a very (too) subtle rumble and nudge. I do like the LDW light flash however and find that really helpful.

I also have a 2019 Signature and that’s my experience too. I’m coming off of many years of Acura ownership and experienced lots of wind and tire noise compared to the CX-5.

So cosmetic and some tech changes. No new sheet metal or engine changes. I wonder if Mazda thinks they can soldier on with this tinkering for the 2022 CX-5 so basically six model years since the 2017 was introduced. We do get the carbon edition in black or gray though, a choice not available in the US. ;-) But I agree. I’m really disappointed with the infotainment decision. The Canadian changes are so negligible that I’m planning on buying out my lease and coming back when there is a truly “new“ CX-5.

Speaking of marketing, I think the colors could have more creative names too. Do you want to tell your neighbors that your car is "Snowflake White" or "Machine Gray"? BMW X3 equivalent is "Alpine and "Dark Graphite".

I looked at it when my 2019 was in for service. In the sunlight, it seems more blue tinted than the web photos appear. I prefer my Machine Gray.

They could add the 48" infotainment screen shown at CES, LOL. Seriously, I'm very happy with my 2019 Signature.

Agree. When I was test-driving my 2019 Signature, the salesman kept boasting about the lane keep assist and I honestly couldn't feel a thing. Looking forward to the new Mazda 3 interior dash design and larger infotainment screen. I haven't seen any new references to the "no new models until 2023" reports, but, if that's true, I wonder what Mazda can still do to the CX-5 for two more model years to keep it "new and improved"?

Sort of repeating myself but the only German BMW SUV you can buy in the US is the X1/X2 and even that may possibly be from the new plant in the Netherlands. Oh, and the RDX is made in Ohio.
