Loud horn may not have helped in your case. Loudest horn on earth might not be enough, if the other car doesn't quickly realize why someone is honking AND immediately respond with the correct action. But at least a horn is good for "yelling" at idiots who don't watch what they are doing. btw...

I've seen a slight decrease in mpg also, possibly due to running a different fuel (89 ethanol) for a few tanks, or just the change in seasonal blends or driving habits. I'm going back to 87 non-ethanol to see what happens.

We see around 25mpg running errands, etc. When I work... mix of a little city and various 55-70mph highways, I've been getting 30-31 on a tank. Pure highway cruising with no real wind factor.... should see #'s like 30-32mpg @70mph and at least 2-3 more mpg @60mph

If you want something that feels fast, you might as well not bother with the CX5. The manual isn't going to make much difference. CX5 has everything going for it EXCEPT that put-you-back-in-the-seat feeling. Probably just the opposite.. it's going to feel a little slower than it really is...
