Where are the safety rating for 2nd gen Mazda5?

Yeah I saw that. Strange that they don't fit them in Japan. The Uk model is even right hand drive like the Japanese model, so there seems little point in not fitting them. Like you say, they might not be required, or be outlawed there.

Where are the safety rating for 2nd gen Mazda5?

Weird how the side curtains don't go off in the YouTube video (or were disabled). I have pretty much the exact same car and the side curtains go all the way back to the 3rd row... Link to the full detailed results for the gen2 JNCAP test if anyone is interested...

Mazda 5 second row middle seat

I imagine the parts are the same as my UK model as well (as JDM) - might be possible for US people to source stuff from here than Japan...not sure.

Advice: Wait for 2014 Mazda5 GT or Purchase a 2013 now?

Lol. Not to rub it in, but the trunk ambient lighting is also a lovely blue as well. :)

Mazda 5 second row middle seat

Does the US Mazda3 have a middle seat belt? The UK model does... For info, we can fit 2 rear car seats and an adult in the middle row, or three adults. The amount of room in their is probably fractionally better than a Honda Accord.

    Is leather seats worth it?

Apart from the drivers seat the leather is pretty good. I am the poster that had their drivers seat bolster collapse after 20k. I think the problem is actually with the construction of the seat and the foam. It actually causes the leather to stretch too much. I complained to Mazda but they...

Advice: Wait for 2014 Mazda5 GT or Purchase a 2013 now?

The bottom picture is of the current gen 2 car. I even have these blue lights in my footwells on my UK model.

To change or not to change...that is the question?

I have had my 2nd gen 5 for less than a year, so can't comment on ownership over that time. But, one thing I would say after looking around some older high mileage 5's is that the interiors don't seem to wear well on the first gen 5. Seems to look very tired eventually. Personally, after...

    7 Seat Mazda5: Anyone Import 3 Seat 2nd Row to U.S.?

I have the UK model and I can get three car seats across the back of my gen 2 Mazda 5.

Mazda 5 second row middle seat

It would be interesting to see what makes it illegal in the US. I have the Uk model and the set up is pretty much identical to my Honda CRV, with the middle seat belt exiting the roof mounting. Room across the middle row is pretty similar to any other car.

    7 Seat Mazda5: Anyone Import 3 Seat 2nd Row to U.S.?

Yep, I would second all this as a UK 5 owner. I think your biggest problem is going to be the seat belt. It comes out of the roof, and you are probably going to need the UK/Euro headliner if you want anything like a neat job. In the place where the seat belt exits the roof, the headliner has a...

POLL: Mazda 5 Ownership vs. Driver

Fair enough. If I had the money, I would have something sporty. I like my cars to be paid for though, so that isn't going to happen soon.

POLL: Mazda 5 Ownership vs. Driver

Completely necessary. I'm just not into having having depreciating things lying around when they are used rarely, or a single car can be easily shared.

    2013 Mazda 5 no Navigation?

Strangely enough, here in the UK, the ONLY Mazda5 model you can buy is one with Nav. It is a Sanyo model with integrated TomTom, so it's not exactly OEM. You could try your luck with one of these Chinese devices that have all the integrated moldings for the dashboard.

    UK Boot/Cargo Liner

Yeah I think they could. This is the link to the one I bought (the original post link is now dead): http://mazda-5.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/accessories/detail/model=283/category=ROOT-interior/accessory=Trunkliner/id=11350 I think part of the problem is that it effectively a carry over part from...

    UK Boot/Cargo Liner

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I am in the UK and have just bought this liner the posters in this thread have lusted over. (The one linked in the original post) I had high hopes. Sadly, it's a bit "pants" - As we say here in the UK. Before I picked it up from the dealer I had visions...

POLL: Mazda 5 Ownership vs. Driver

Same here. I work at home sometimes, so the car is pretty much 50/50 shared. Don't have more cars than you need! Public transport is probably a bit better here than the US though...

    2012 Mazda5 Rear Bumper Lip

I have the chrome bumper lip on mine. This plastic one is probably better - the chrome is already scratched to bits.

New 5 owner hoping for better days

I found it pretty quiet after a 2008 Civic. Same for the interior - for the most part better built. I know what you mean about the armrests though. And the seat bases could be better quality. Don't confuse interior quality for mechanical quality and general reliability: VWs are the reverse way...
