10K on my 2 (Demio) sport, 5mt, and first long trip

You know, it's funny -- half of the people on here think the seats are great (I'm one of them), and half think the seats suck.

Wing Mirror Plastic Housing replacement part :'(

+! to going through your dealership. Last time I checked, they sold those parts pre-painted (pretty much the only body part you can get that way), so be sure to give them your VIN so they can order it in the correct color.

    Top 20 Ticketed Cars/Drivers

I'm gonna call a little bit of shenanigans on that list. Insurance.com compiled those numbers using the following methodology: So their only numbers are from people who are looking to buy insurance. I'd bet that a decent percentage of people who are shopping for car insurance are those who...

    USB Folder Music Bizarre Ordering?

I don't think it's necessarily the "raw" order. I've had occasions where I've taken a blank USB drive and loaded a bunch of folders of music (albums) onto it in one shot. Then later on, I'll add a few more folders. Some of the added-on folders will show up at the end (that is, if I started with...

Anyone replace their front brake pads?

Thanks, everyone. I'll try to remember to take pictures when I get around to doing the pad replacement so I can do a write-up. Already have a set of OEM pads (a guy I know at the dealer gave them to me, they were taken off of a new 2 that got turned into a dedicated autocross car), and the...

Anyone replace their front brake pads?

The front pads on our 2011 are going to be due for replacement soon. I assume that they're as straightforward as any other Mazda disc brakes, but to make sure, has anyone replaced theirs? Easy job or not?

OEM USB port for pre 2013 models

I can practically guarantee you that you'll need more than just the socket for the center console; the wiring harness is likely different, and the headunit will need to be replaced as well. I've been researching off and on about doing a swap like this for our 2011, as I'm totally spoiled by it...

    Could be fun

Dang, and it's real 4WD too...previous 4WD versions have had electric motors on the rear wheels (meant really only to help with snow traction, so those models were only sold around Hokkaido). Wish we could get that here, even if it was a regular gasoline model.

    Mazda 2 in the snow?

We own two 2's with autos and stock tires and live in Minnesota. My wife got hers stuck once, but that was because she got it high-centered on too much snow at the end of the driveway (took me an hour to dig it out -- at 2am when she had to go to work, of course). Put snow tires on one and a 2...

Mazda2 sport colour edition floor mats

They should fit fine, as long as you're getting RHD mats. (LHD mats from, say a North American 2 won't work as they're shaped differently for the driver and passenger to accommodate the pedals.)

    Multi-pronged problem.

Is the fust visibly blown (with burn marks on each end of the filament) or is it just broken in the middle of the filament? With a strong enough shock it's possible to break the filament in fuses and light bulbs, though admittedly it's not that common.

    Question about automatic transmission.

Yeah, you definitely want to get your ATF flushed every 30k or so. Mazda ATX's are known to be hard on ATF; just ask Mazda3 owners (I used to be one). Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF *used* to list compatibility with ATF M-V. I used it in my 3 and it was great. Not sure if they changed the formulation or...

    Touring model -- tweeter wiring?

I don't know how well/where crossovers would fit behind the door cards, but on my old Mazda3 it was such a PITA (I ended up having to take the crossovers out of their casings and wrap the boards with a few layers of electrical tape, just to make them thinner) that I'm not sure I'd want to embark...

    This is the 2015 Mazda2

The 2 for North America will, yeah. But the Demio for Japan will still be built in Hiroshima.

    more mazda2 spy shots

I actually don't like that interior very much...I'm a fan of the big stereo/nav display, but I really don't like the single-gauge instument panel. I tend to judge how fast I'm going based on the relative position of the speedo needle and a digital numeric display would totally annoy me.

Looks like they may have taken the page down, I can't find it on their site anywhere.

If you turn the air conditioning off, does the idle drop/squeaking stop?

I actually have a thread about it: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123836196-Engine-block-heater&p=6254158&viewfull=1#post6254158 It's on the backside of the engine, underneath the exhaust manifold.

Make your own with drywall anchors, stainless steel screws and Ikea flexible cutting boards. Seriously. Did it on my old 3 and they worked (and looked) great.

It works great, but FYI it's a major pain to access the bolts that fasten the retaining plate to the block. I ended up having a shop install it.
