    Oil Choice, oil consumption

We use 0-20W. We're now at 120K miles. It uses half a quart every 5000 miles. I change the oil every 5K too. For most of it's life our 2016 CX5 didn't use any.

    2009~2013 Extreme carbon buildup!

Did you have to gap the plugs? If you did then how did you do it? Some people use a feeler gauge to gap the plugs. If you do the electrode tip will be damaged and they'll fail in a few thousand miles. There's another issue with "fake" spark plugs out there too.

2016.5 CX-5 Transmission fluid change questions

When I did the drain and fill at 50 and 75K miles I replaced 3.5 quarts of fluid. At 105K I dropped the pan and replaced the filter too. On that service I did replace almost 6 quarts of fluid.

The great thing about this car is it still handles well, no rattles and has been completely reliable.

2016.5 CX-5 Transmission fluid change questions

We actually drive the car pretty easy most of the time. In it's 119K lifespan the first 105K miles were 80% highway. Now my wife uses the car to drive back and forth to school and it's about 30 miles a day round trip more stop and go. Still averaging 28 mpg at least on the display.

2016.5 CX-5 Transmission fluid change questions

I think 6 quarts was it for what would drain out. I would not do a power flush. Puts a lot of stress on the seals. The fluid was a brown color when I changed it. There were no particles in the tranny pan when I pulled it which was good.

2016.5 CX-5 Transmission fluid change questions

I did a drain and fill at 50K, 75K and then pulled the pan and changed the filter at 105K. From memory I got about 3.5 or so quarts on the drain and fills out. When I pulled the pan and then the old filter and let it drain overnight I think I got closer to 6 quarts. I got the filter from Rock...

First Time Mazda Owner Question For Long Time Owners

119K trouble free miles on our 2016 CX5 GT. Other than normal maintenance items have never put a dime into it. Still runs and drives great. I haven't taken it in for the headlight recall since my daylight running lights still work great. Maybe someday.

225/55R19 Tire Comparison Table for CX-5 GT - Many to Choose From

Found the reason why. On the Mazda they are True Contact not Cross Contact. Still very happy with them.

225/55R19 Tire Comparison Table for CX-5 GT - Many to Choose From

No idea. I just looked at the sidewall and didn't see either LX20 or LX25 marked on it. It's possible it's on the inside of the tire though.

225/55R19 Tire Comparison Table for CX-5 GT - Many to Choose From

I've got a set of Continental Cross contacts on our CX-5. Very happy with them so far. I have 18,000 miles on the set and they are quiet, grip and handle well. No complaints about them at all.

Transmission fluid change without filter replacement

I did a drain and fill at 50 and 75K miles. At 110K I dropped the pan, replaced the filter and refilled. On the basic drain and fills I got maybe 4 quarts max. On the pan drop it was closer to six. The car now has 118K miles o it.

2013~2016 CX-5 reliability, I want to purchase one

Our 2016 GT now has 118K trouble free miles on it. Other than maintenance and a couple recalls it has been rock solid. It still drives and handles great too.

Anyone consider a used Luxury SUV for the price of a new CX-5?

In the past we've owned 2 BMW 335i's and one 535i. At around 70K miles if you keep them that long be prepared to get your wallet out often and pay a lot. Our neighbor has an Audi A5 and it's even worse. Our 2016 CX5 GT has over 117K miles on it. Other than maintenance items haven't put a dime...

I agree. Mercedes is overpriced, expensive to fix and trouble prone as they age.

    Mileage Too High?

As some others have said a lot depends on the maintenance the car received before. Our 2016 GT now has 117K miles with 80% being highway. It still drives and feels very solid. I have done all the maintenance myself including oil changes every 5K, 3 transmission drain and fills with the last...

    Pcv valve 2017 2.5L

I've heard it's under the intake manifold. Don't ask me why it wasn't placed on top of the valve cover or some more accessible place. There is actually what appears to be a foam piece under my intake manifold. Haven't taken it off to look yet.

How long did your brake pads last?

I put the Autozone ceramic pads on my son's 2009 Altima. They are quiet and stop just fine. It's only been 5,000 miles or so but am considering them for our CX-5 when the time comes.
