actually, that is an option that's still on the table, assuming the dealer has a 2016.5 on the lot and is willing to swap. The OEM's have a smaller offset however. I'd like something with a bit wider stance and these wheels are 32's as opposed to the OEM 45's.

My apologies. I didn't word myself correctly. You're right, the post mentioned the offset. I will go back and talk to the Mazda mechanics to get their take on the offset and TPMS situation. You're correct, if all that work needs to be done, then $125 is more than fair. I'll keep you guys posted!

Just an update if anyone cares. So I went to a dealer today (not the one I'm planning to buy from) and asked about a wheels swap. They said sure, no problem. Wheels are exactly same size. They said they want extra $125 for the swap which won't happen lol. So it seems that the wheels are indeed...

It's almost as if they put all this sweat and effort into designing the body and interior on the 17 and totally ran out of energy and ideas by the time they got to the wheels. With such a beautiful design of the car, they could've done a lot better with the rims. I guess I'm off to shop for...

Thanks for the answers guys. I didn't know that there was an offset difference. I've had dealers swap wheels when I bought some of my previous cars so I thought I may get lucky again. I just love the last gen wheels, more so than most aftermarket ones. Ughhh...I guess it's time to start wheel...
