    Shark Fin Antenna oops

Was a piece of scrap aluminum, I was improvising. After using that, then I used a nut and bolt such that the head of the bolt caught on the edge of the hole on the outside, and I turned the nut on the inside to have the head of the bolt pull on the edge of the hole slowly bending the car's sheet...

    So long, Honda. Hello, Mazda!

So one of you guys can buy it for $29,800. The dealer won't want it on their lot forever, and I think they would be fine with an $800 dollar profit.

    Synthetic Oil, oil change interval

I think Hyundai and Kia now make excellent cars. They still have their spontaneous combustion issues, lol, but they really designed their cars smart and to be durable. Their reputation is still spoiled from the crap they threw together in the 90's.

    Synthetic Oil, oil change interval

I partially agree with Tchman2016, because all of the auto manufacturers are pushed to be more green. One way to be more green is to not recycle so much oil and trans fluid. So they set the intervals to be the longest without sacrificing the engine's or transmission's durability. But as stated...

    Poor Fuel Economy solved!? Maybe

It is implied that the red line has the data for both octanes, otherwise it would mean that the car goes 0 mph until the revs go over 4,500 for the grey line lol. I can sort of understand people thinking "Where is the grey line?" when first looking at a chart like that for the first time. All of...

Dangerous cylinder deactivation trouble on 2018 CX-5 and Mazda6 models

I would try and get a free extended warranty, with the angle that it wasn't diagnosed properly the first time and you have concern with your engine's longevity. They will probably say you had no damage, and you can say "Well then getting an extended warranty won't cost them anything since the...

Dangerous cylinder deactivation trouble on 2018 CX-5 and Mazda6 models

Asking for a new engine is extreme imho. The fear of getting the low oil pressure indicator is that there is zero oil pressure. Since yours still had 26 at the higher rpm, It is very unlikely that any engine damage occurred. After saying that, I would want to cut open the oil filter to look for...

2016 CX-5 Sport Pennzoil PZ-37 oil and filter change

OEM is best since it is custom for Mazda. What we don't know about non OEM filters is the amount of spring tension for the pressure release, or the density of the filtering media. If it has a weaker spring, oil might bypass the filter. If the filtering media is too dense, it would restrict oil...

    Poor Fuel Economy solved!? Maybe

To me the graph is very easy to understand. The red line less than 4K rpm for both hp and torque is actually red and grey, meaning that the performance is identical with both octanes. Past 4K the maximum benefit is 23 hp and even less torque, at 5K rpms. Many people might like that extra 23 hp...

What did they give you for the trade it? Someone can get a good deal on that CX-5.

    Possible AC drain clogged?

Maybe he is thinking heater core, not AC. I would only chemically flush the heating core if it partially clogged up.

    Possible AC drain clogged?

Don't chemical flush your AC! Ever.

    FB Marketplace SD Nav Card

I paid $65 for mine at the end of 2018. It is mostly good for looking at the map and to Go Home. Trying to enter destinations on it is 2002 technology.

    Synthetic Oil, oil change interval

I will go from twice a year to 3 changes a year, because I do go on short rides a couple times a week. The oil from my 6 month change was so black. I've been waiting for oil to go on sale at Walmart but it doesn't look like the oil I use will be going on sale. Last year it was on sale by July 25th.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I heat the used one for about 2 seconds with a torch and drop it in water to make it softer, then sand on a flat surface with fine sandpaper. If it is flat and I see no marring I put it in the Reuse bag. Most people won't bother to do 5 dollars worth of work to save a quarter but I don't mind...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

They are not OEM, but the same size. If I put my original OEM washer in with the 20, you wouldn't be able to pick it out from the group. And that is an incredible mark up in price. The one review by Compelled to Write a Review is me.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

A couple years ago I bought these Crush Washers. They were only $4.99 for 20 at the time. $8.99 is still a good price and it may be enough for the lifetime of the car. I can recondition them and use them more than once.
