Transmission Fluid Change at 110,000 Miles? 2014 AWD CX-5

Huh I never got 5 quarts out. It was always around 3.5 and last time was exactly 4.

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Hey all, so been driving a bit and gotta say, feels nice having a firmed up suspension again. That said, I definitely feel a difference in the front and rear when say going over a speed bump. They aren't leaking, but I think at some point in the near future, I'll go ahead and replace the rear...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

For me it was that the extension kept popping off of the socket when I was trying to pull the plug out. Some tape fixed that problem. I washed the car yesterday and tried a wet wax. Will see how it holds up. I've been pretty lazy lately. I actually need to clay bar and compound / polish the car...

Break in oil consumption (2024 CX-5 Sig)

Same on my 2.5L NA. I did switch to 5w30 full synthetic from 0w20 full synthetic and that helped a bit. I still lose some oil between changes. I try to stick closer to a 5000 mile OCI these days since I do more city driving than highway. I had my oil pan resealed about 3 years back because I had...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Much needed oil change. I let it drain 20 minutes while I ate a sandwich. Was done in about 40 minutes.

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Putting the new LCAs on wasn't really a problem, but the bushings part (that has the two bolts, 1 long, 1 short) was definitely difficult to get to align right without it moving off center. Not that difficult, but took a bit of finagling for me.

Why do dealers do this? Overfill oil then argue?

    Ah that makes sense.

Why do dealers do this? Overfill oil then argue?

Interesting. I usually get the 5 quart jugs at Walmart of either Castro Edge or Pennzoil Platinum and same...3/4 of the way. Is it really 5L and not 5 quarts?

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Replaced both front lower control arms and sway bar end links this past Sunday. The bushing were torn badly on the control arms, and the end links were twisted and the boots torn. Resulted in pretty mushy steering and some clunking noises, not to mention the general lousy-goosey feeling of the...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Yeah took me about 4 1/2 hours to do the driver's side one, and then about 2 1/2 hours for the passenger side one. I had a lot more help for the passenger side one.

Why do dealers do this? Overfill oil then argue?

Huh, interesting video. Well like I said, I mostly just use a 5 quart jug of oil and call it good. Fills about 3/4 of the way between low and max dots.

Why do dealers do this? Overfill oil then argue?

Screenshot of the 2014 CX-5 owner's manual PDF. My manual says 4.8 quarts. The manual is wrong. 4.8 quarts would probably only put it halfway on the dipstick between the two dots. With some oil consumption/loss between changes, would rather be closer to the full dot.

Why do dealers do this? Overfill oil then argue?

2.5L NA engine on mine. I always just use a 5 quart jug when I do my oil changes and that puts it about 3/4 of the way towards the top (max) dot on the dipstick. I still have no idea why the manual says to use 4.8 quarts. If I use another half a quart after the 5 quarts, then it actually hits...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

Hi all, finally got some time yesterday to do the work of replacing both lower control arms and sway bar links. Did not have time to do the struts. Thoughts: I never want to do this job again and will gladly pay someone to do it in the future if I ever need it again. I would supply the parts...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

The shipping was too expensive from that shop in Japan, so mainly Quirk Parts and Mazdaswag. Will say Mazdaswag did a horrible job packaging the struts. Quirk Parts had both lower control arms for $185 each.

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

Approaching 136k miles and getting ready to replace front suspension components: struts, lower control arms, sway bar end links. Current links are a bit twisted, bushing on the LCA's are torn. Rear suspension is fine. Replaced MAF sensor earlier this year to resolve a running rich CEL code.

    New Mazda Logo

Doesn't look like a drastic change really, just more the stylization of their current logo (minorly different shape). But agreed with @7eregrine - will wait to pass judgement till I see it on an actual car.
