You're not blind. Mazda claims the tranny fluid is lifetime and rear diff only needs to be changed if you drive through deep water. I would not follow these claims if you plan on keeping the car past the powertrain warranty.

Sounds like Mazda is covering the repair less $500. Cracked cylinder head is a known issue on CX-5 pre 2022. Mazda extended warranty on turbo to cover cracked cylinder head for 10 yrs. That why I asked if it was a turbo.

Do you have the turbo? Turbo is covered for 10yr/120,000 miles. If not I'd call Mazda corporate and raise HELL. 25k miles is way too low for this to happen and it shouldn't happen at all.

Many people have asked and the answer has always been NO.

I have 2019 turbo and it's not at all jerky at low speed.

What about transmission fluid? Has it ever been changed? Also transfer case fluid.

Another thing - If I took my vehicle in for oil chg, tires and brakes and they called me and said they couldn't get to it for a couple days - I'll go get it and bring it back the day they could or find another shop.

If this is for real you could contact Mazda corporate and give them the info. I'm sure they could look it up and verify.
