Totalled 2008 CX9 - Thoughts from folks who moved to Gen 2?

I have no experience with the Gen 1 CX-9. I never came to love the looks as much as the new CX-9. After a year and a half, two cross country trips and about 18k miles we are happy with the CX-9 GT AWD. It is one of the quietest vehicles I've ever driven including some older BMW's and Mercedes...

2016~2023 Blind spot & lane keep not functional

We have a 2018 CX-9 AWD GT and the lane keep is usually off because all it does is remind you what you should already know. That your drifting out of your lane. We mostly have it defeated because if only vibrates the hands a bit. My wife hates it because she says it scares her. I think it's...

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Yep I saw a 2020 today and sat in the new rear "captains chairs" with no center console in a Touring trim and I was not a fan. It felt and looked a little naked. As this video shows they are on slender side to side and this guy is not a big guy either. It looked a little unfinished kind of like...

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

I brought our CX-9 AW GT into the dealer today for an oil change and rotation ( 17k miles and still happy) and they had a few 2020's in so I took a look. They had a Touring with the new captains chairs in the rear. Personally not a fan. I sat in it and it has the small retractable arm rests on...

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Not a fan of the new logo's. Might have to grow on me a bit.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

I think it must be a mis-print. Mazda is all over the LA show last week with the new CX-30 and Phoenix is right next door. Everyone else is there.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

I just looked at the floor plan for the Auto Show here in Phoenix next week and Mazda is not represented at all? Odd.

The VW Atlas takes a stab at the CX-9

If I have the 3rd row up that means there are too many people in the vehicle(spin)

Looks like theyre starting to roll out...

Sticks out like a sore thumb if you ask me. I prefer the current version.

    Transitioning from cx5 to cx9

We had the last gen CX-5 ( GT AWD) great little SUV. No problems other than the LED headlights going which were thankfully replaced under warranty. It didn't feel to small until I drove the CX-9. There is quite a bit of difference in road presence and over all feel. We are smaller people so the...

    New Member & New CX-9

I have a similar looking Thule "Force" medium top box. Good product. Opens on both sides. Makes a bit or noise as speed and kills mileage by about 2-3 MPG though when loaded up. This is still one of the smoothest highway vehicles I have ever driven. Even with the 20" wheel package.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

If I were an Uber driver with this SUV I might care. Or if I had a regular dose of two people I cared about that much but other than that I'll take the bench seat. And with that center console you won't be able to crawl through the middle to get to the 3rd row.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Only thing I really would want that we don't have is vented front seats living in Arizona. I'm fine with the 8 inch screen on the 2018. Would not want captains chairs and rarely have anyone in the back seat anyway. Third row has never been up other than initial curiosity. I bought it for the...

    New Member & New CX-9

Funny my dealer driven 2018 CX-9 GT AWD ( had 5500 miles and was sold as new) did also come with the front and rear plastic chrome garnishes. I really think it sets the look off in a great way. It's mostly the wife's vehicle but I like to drive it as well because it's such a nice vehicle to be...

Impossible to properly dry by hand ;-)

I usually enjoy washing my vehicles but this is a tough one. It's large, tall and has many crevices that hold water. I do use a leaf blower on it but nothing beats micro fiber and detail spray to finish it. It just takes a lot of time and patience.

It is done... 2018 GT bought today. I'm in the club.

Congrats. I got a 2018 dealer used GT for my wife ( but it's really for me!) in January (5500 miles) and after 9 months and 10k miles I have to say it is everything it is cracked up to be. I don't care about more interior space as we will never use the 3rd row and the other niggles don't bother...

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Minimal changes as I suspected. Captains chairs do not interest me so I'm good with my 2018 GT AWD.

OEM Crossbars - Pain in the butt

Terrible design. Takes special tools and a ton of patience neither of which I have. I was going to take mine off when not in use but it's not worth the time, hassle and potential damage or not getting them back on. I'll sacrifice the 1mpg in lost gas mileage and just leave them on.

    i-ACTIVE AWD not so Active

We've only had out CX-9 GT AWD for a few months and today I took it out on a very wet day and threw it around on some back roads, did some full throttle stop and starts, accelerating mid turn at higher speeds and I find the AWD system to be adequate. Even with the Falkens it's hard to get the...

    Review: CX-9 vs. Subaru Ascent

I was getting gas and a new Ascent pulled up next to me and I asked them how they liked the vehicle and what kind of MPG were they getting. They really like the vehicle and chose it for it's interior size. They are averaging 20 mpg in mixed rural, suburban, highway conditions. I swear at the end...
