    2017~2025 Another CX-5 Battery question!

Thanks for your replies. The battery in my car looks the same as in any other cx5, a Panasonic with yellow label and unknown AH and CCA. As far as the disconnection of battery and losing the presets and auto window function did not happen to me when I had disconnected the battery while changing...

    Start Stop Query

We have istop in Europe in our Mazda. It seems to work better/ more often in Mazda compared to my wife's Toyota Auris/Corolla. Don't know if this is a car taxation gimmick or a real fuel saver.

    Undercarriage Rust

We have the same problem of rust here in Sweden with cold icy winters and salt on the road. Some European cars like Volvo, SAAB, VW have good rust protection. Unfortunately the Japanese cars are rather devoid of rust protection. Reliable but rusty! I had my cx5 treated the first year itself and...

    2017~2025 Another CX-5 Battery question!

No one? Any one has any advice? While waiting for your reply, I decided to buy the Foxwell BT100 battery analyser and check my three year old Mazda cx5 battery in situ. The car has done 40000km. I was totally surprised by the result. It showed charge of 12.6 volt, CCA of 580, SOC and SOH of...

CX-5 NGK spark plugs 14mm or 9/16 and torque?

Even Denso advises not to use lubricants on your spark plug. It buggers up the torquing of the plug. All the Toyota and BMW mechanics that have changed the spark plugs in my earlier cars, while I watched them, they never used the torque wrench and having done it my self both with and without, I...

    2017~2025 Another CX-5 Battery question!

My second generation CX5 (2017) with istop has completed 3 years and I am getting worried about the life of the original battery. It is charged/topped up now and then using a C-Tek charger and I have recently topped up both the charge and the distill water in the battery. Winters are harsh here...

    Mirrors not folding completely

"Luckily 10 years warranty should cover the next repair on the folding mirror if it happens again", says my wife. Perhaps I should listen to her but half the fun is worrying about your car and planning the next DIY fix.😃

    Mirrors not folding completely

Agreed. Even though the repair seems to be a three stage improvement over time and generations according to the recall printed in the earlier post, I don't feel very comfortable and may have to switch off that function to preserve it. My wife's Corolla /Auris has it and it never has had a...

    Mirrors not folding completely

Just want to give a feed back on my post on the malfunctioning of exterior folding mirror. The Mazda dealer workshop got in touch with head office here in Sweden after receiving my complaint. Within a week the head office had sent the repair kit and I had it done on both sides today and they...

    Mirrors not folding completely

Yes I have read the above mentioned TSB report after returning from the mazda dealer. I just hope they honour the 10 years warranty and change on both sides. The problem is intermittent just now.

    Mirrors not folding completely

Just had a visit to the Mazda dealer workshop since the driver side outer mirror is erratic. Fails to close most of the time. The car is three years old and has done 40000 km. Here Mazda comes with 10 year warranty so let us hope they abide by it. They have sent the enquiry to the Mazda head...

    Incorrect Speed Limit in HUD?

I have had a similar incident because my last free GPS map update was a year ago and this winter the road department reduced speed limits on some roads from 90 kmph to 80 kmph . So if the car sees the new speed limit sign it goes down to 80kmph on the hud display but after about 1-2 km it...

    HUD warning

You only get navigation direction, speed limit, blind spot alerts and possibly lane keep assist (I have lane assist off) on the HUD here in Sweden.

    Backup Camera Washer?

Just copied some one else's photo on a cx5 tail gate with trim removed from internet (thanks). The black S shaped tube with a green dot just to the right of the centre line is the rear window wiper flush tube. Cut it and attach a T connector to it. Attach a clear plastic tube to one arm of the...

    Backup Camera Washer?

This mod is very easily doable in our CX5. A camera flush tube that takes its water supply from the rear window washer tube using a T connector and a non return valve. The rear window original washer tube can be exposed by removing the inner plastic liner over the tail gate. Just divide it and...

    Off Road Assist With/Without?

Acording to the video link, Dave from Mazda mentions that there are two ways to achieve traction control, one by the reduction of the engine speed and the other by the brakes applied to the spinning/slipping wheels, so that the power can be distributed to the non slipping wheels instead. When we...

    Lane Keeping Assist Behavior

My 2017 CX5 does vibrate and nudge you back in the lane. If you do it too many times, it registers driver fatigue and asks you to take rest. I do not need another co driver nudging me back (I have a wife as the first co driver) and I certainly don't need any damm Mazda telling me when to take...

CR Talking cars, CX-5 vs CX-30

This is exactly what I said after driving cx 30 before. If you have a cx5 then cx 30 is more like downgrade in ride comfort and handling of the car round corners and rough roads for example. The interior finish is top notch...

Mazda CX-5 Emergency braking when reversing a trailer

My cx5 2017 has a dealer installed tow and during reversing with trailer it shuts off backup sensor and even possibly reverse cross traffic brake. I have experienced absolutely no problem while reversing. I think your dealer has used the wrong harness.
