    Replacement Keyless Key? 2013 CX-5

It is an involved locksmith process if you only have one fob. If you have 2 fobs, you can program a 3rd one by yourself (procedure in the owner's manual) and just have the emergency key cut at a hardware store. So when I lost one of my fobs (2014 CX-5), I bought 2 replacements online and had the...

Doing the brakes when you're old...

Chuckling at all the above comments as I'm in somewhat the same boat - I turn 70 next month. Last month, with great effort as usual, I swapped out my Blizzak DM-V2 snow tires for my summer Michelin Sport Pilot 4 A/S tires. I always wash and wax the tires/wheels that I take off before I store...

Blizzak WS-90 thoughts after 3 seasons

Love my DM-V2s. 3 years and 15K miles on them and they still look and feel new. Getting ready to put them back on again soon.

    2024 CX-5 door sill options?

Finally received these a few days ago and put them on today. They are a pretty thick vinyl and are very well made. The entire back is a strong adhesive, they are easy to place and conform nicely to the curves in the plastic. Hopefully they will hold up long term. Front Rear

    2016 CX-5 Drive belt pricing

Just to throw in my 2¢. If you are doing the work yourself, be sure and buy the OEM water pump belt and not some other aftermarket brand. When I replaced mine I could not get the aftermarket Gates belt on no matter what I tried while others on here who got the OEM had no problem installing...

Tire recommendations needed for 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD

No, he didn't. Since I have 2 sets of wheels (these original 19" for the summer, and an OEM 17" new-car-takeoff set that I bought shortly after I got my CX-5 for my winter tires), I thoroughly clean and wax each set when I take them off and before I store them in the rack I made in my garage...

    2024 CX-5 door sill options?

I just ordered a set of these carbon fiber look door sill protectors from colorfulcar dot com. They are peel and stick. They look pretty good, but we'll see when they get here. Cheap enough to ditch 'em if I don't like them. I just ordered the 4 piece set to cover the inner plastic sill since I...

Tire recommendations needed for 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD

Here's my initial impressions of the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires that I had installed last week. I've got about 200 miles on them now. They are much quieter than the Yokohamas that I took off, but pretty much ANY new tire I put on would have been quieter than them! To be certain...

Tire recommendations needed for 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD

Perhaps that is just a function of your local DT for a good customer? The paperwork on my tires is confusing at best. In one case it lists under "Limited Warranties" the "New Tires - Mileage Warranty" the pro-rata pricing adjustment that you mention. Then further below, still under the "Limited...

Tire recommendations needed for 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD

2 issues I have with your plan. First, the Yokohama warranty is only for 60 months from purchase - I'm way past that. And second, the young kids they have working at my local discount tire are not very careful with the wheels, so I don't like going there. I'm having the tires delivered to my...

Tire recommendations needed for 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD

I just ordered these from Tire Rack yesterday. After they are installed, I'll follow up with some initial impressions. My current 19" tires are Yokohama 740 GTX (from Discount Tire) that I installed in 2016. After about 50K miles, they are down to about 3-4/32nds and they have been noisy for a...

NGK Spark Plug ILKAR7L11 long term usage

I installed the NGK plugs about 5 years ago. I have put on over 55K miles since then with zero issues. When it's time, I'll use them again. As an aside, the "NGK Spark Plug Company" has officially changed its name (as of 3/31/23) to "Niterra". In case you didn't know, they manufacture spark...
