Change Rear Brakes on 2016 CX-9 with electric emergency brake?

Doesn't really surprise me as the rear brakes in these cars are said to grab first on sight initial contact to minimize front dip sensation during normal driving. My personal experience is I needed to replace the rear will before the fronts, the fronts had another 40% live easily at the time...

Long Term Review - PowerStop Z17 Evolution Plus Ceramic Brake pads - 2nd Gen CX-9

I like em! A lot! It was cheaper than the OEMs from Mazda and they grab better, much much less brake dust, little if no rusting on the rotors, no squealing of any kind. The Powerstops went on without an issue, just watch the rubber boot bushing. You won't regret it!

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

I bought a battery for my wife's Jetta sometime back. Car for totaled (by me 😔) but I was able to get the new Kirkland battery out before it was gone for good... It sat on my concrete garage floor for nearly three years before I decided to hook it up to my 04' Eclipse GTS, now that I fixed the...

    CX-9 Wheel Spacers installed

At minimum I'd say add back the 25mm to the tire width :p I used back stock wheels and tires, but I'm certain you can go wider..

    2021 CX-9 Burning oil

That's really frustrating... Honestly, are you able to get them to buy the car back at a fair value and get into the CX-90? At this point, maybe that is the only option to keep you whole? Failing that, sell and move onto something else. That problem will only get worse... Are you prepared to...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I bought this kit from rockauto at a fraction of what the dealer wanted and did it myself. If you're not sure about doing it yourself, watch a few videos and get to it-- really one of the easiest things to do. The kit has good bite and after about 3-4 months of use so far, no issues...

Hood latch broken (2018 CX-9 GT)

I'm able to get it open by just giving it slight pressure upwards, after pulling the cable. I didn't hear it release but it did. Any one have info or write ups on replacing the broken latch? Only saw something on a Mazda3, nothing on the CX vehicles on my search.

Hood latch broken (2018 CX-9 GT)

Hey guys. My 2018 CX9 GT has a broken hood latch. Went to check the oil etc the other day and when I pulled on it, I heard the spring recoil and the latch has no play. The hood is still in the lock or closed position, can't get my finger in. I didn't want to start jamming a screw driver into...

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

Really easy to cross thread as the angle is a bit tough, even using your fingers to start. Not sure how others managed this but if it doesn't go in right away, walk away from it for a half hour and regroup -- worth it to be patient with the thing. No issues on my McGiver'd 4th plug housing so...

Long Term Review - PowerStop Z17 Evolution Plus Ceramic Brake pads - 2nd Gen CX-9

Right!?! They were serviced by the dealer, I think they swapped them around and re greased etc to get extra life out of it. Didn't think it was that bad until I started hearing the metal pins rubbing..

Long Term Review - PowerStop Z17 Evolution Plus Ceramic Brake pads - 2nd Gen CX-9

I ended up going with Z23s all the way around with new rotors as well. I was at the 120k km mark. First time the fronts were being changed, the rears were changed before at about the 60k km mark. The fronts were also completely done!! I recommend the Z23s. It has more bite, less brake dust and a...

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

It's a great write up, though I assume your intent was to imply sass than anything else. To be clear, the bolt broke off before it was 1/4 way in, likely was broken but left for me to find as I had no torque using a 4 inch 🔧. Meh. The plastic housing that's holding the nut on the valve cover...

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

Thanks guys! You know, you take your time and sometimes sh*t still gets greasy... But, live and learn. I'll post more pictures of the fix when I source that tap. For now, I'll drive it around with a few additional tools on hand in the event it slips out.

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

So I need a lil help plz! 2018 CX9 GT-- original owner with 127k kms. I just sourced NGK Iridium plugs, the same mentioned here by the OP. Looked at a few videos and write ups and decided to take on the job. The change itself is easy except for the problem that I ran into. The plug on the far...
