    Aftermarket 360 surround view installed

the car in the middle is fake and is just a standard image of a car. The 4 cameras (front, rear and side views) are looking at the ground around the car and the 4 image are pasted together to make it look like a single view from above. This is actually old tech ;). Here is what the newest and...

Steering making noise (2019 CX-9). Any ideas?

Hard to tell from the video but it sounds like it is inside and not outside. You can try with the windows down and windows closed to see if the noise is louder with the window open. Honestly it sounds like the trim around your steering wheel is misaligned and is catching when you turn the...

SCBS malfunction message illuminated in the dash 2019 CX9 GT

It happens to the best of us. I guess it depends what type of sbcs warning you get and how often it happens. I would recommend cleaning the windshield in front of the sensor ( it is in the black area in front of the rearview mirror). And see if it happens again. Note the conditions you are in...

SCBS malfunction message illuminated in the dash 2019 CX9 GT

That is odd. The SCBS has nothing to do with the parking sensors (the close proximity beeping that you hear when getting close to objects). You are describing two different things. The SCBS warning is linked to the front camera. The parking sensor has a on/off button on the dash and is link to...

    CX-50 Quirks or Minor Annoyances

As ana alternative, can you just turn the ignition on, activate the wipers and then turn the ignition off when the wipers are up? That would be a real pain in winter. Unless you can move them just enough below the hood to de-ice them.

    Mazda Canada CX-90 Trim Details

The bumper concept is dead. It is mostly there for aesthetic now when it is. I saw a pathfinder the other day, and they even made the bottom of the rear hatch bulge out to form the “top of the bumper”.

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

You could try the social media and media approach. The more public this lack of support becomes the more chances that Mazda will do something about it. Here is an example of a somewhat successful media campaign for out of warranty repair: Cablegate: Toyota Agrees to Pay for Replacement as...

Heater blowing cold air in front but back is fine (2017 CX-9)

You could try the social media and media approach. The more public this lack of support becomes the more chances that Mazda will do something about it. Here is an example if a successful media campaign for out of warranty repair: Cablegate: Toyota Agrees to Pay for Replacement as Investigation...

Will the CX-90 PHEV be gutless?

I don’t think it will be fast, but the instant torque of the electric motor may make it feel sufficient around town in EV only mode. In normal driving mode, the battery should be able to help even at highway speed because the electric motor is in line with the engine and the transmission. This...

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

I can’t speak for mazda specifically, but in general a lot of after the warranty goodwill comes from the dealership directly and not from the head office. I had issue with my infotainment screen on a Ford, Ford Canada wouldn’t do anything about it, but the dealer eventually covered it at their...

    Mazda Canada CX-90 Trim Details

If you mean the i-active features they were an extra package on everything except the GT and signature. Features like the Radar cruise control, blind spot monitoring, had been around for a while (they were available on my 2011 Ford Edge). The CX-9 didn’t even have apple carplay / android auto...

    Mazda Canada CX-90 Trim Details

I think Mazda remains on trend with their habits of offering less in their vehicle compared to the competition. Not saying it isn’t dissapointing, but it was the same with the CX-9. The 2016 CX-9 had a pretty abysimal standard equipment list compared with the competition at the time. I was...

    CX-90 competition

Inline 6 with rear wheel drive + a hybrid setup with a battery is not great for interior packaging. Also it somehow has the lowest roof of the three and it the highest ground clearance.

    Remember that time...

Off topic, but this is the dumbest reason ever to refuse a warranty claim. You can drive all day long at 3000 rpm without overheating the vehicle as long as you let the turbo cool off, especially at 80 mph where a) there are tons of airflow. b) the throttle application is actually very low...

    2020 CX-9 maintenance questions

Definitely an upsell. I couldn’t tell you when a brake flush really is required, but i have done neither of these on my 2018 yet. Or on my previous cars either. Also, what the hell is a fuel system flush ? I have never heard of this, but i have a dealer that keeps trying to upsell fuel...

The disclaimer in Canada did specifically excludes some options from the GT-P (the high output version) that were available on the GT: Turn Across Path,(8) , Secondary Collision Reduction System (8), See-through view (8) from a cabin that recognizes you and adjusts to your individual driving...

CX-90 Trim details, Pricing and Fuel economy press release

These US trim names are too much. I can’t follow the trim comparison between Canada and the US. Couldn’t the US marketing department just stick with GT, GT-P and signature like they did in Canada….. Items like 360 cameras will definitely move down the trim level within a year or two.
