    2014 Mazda5: Parking brake sticking (won't release)

Did you fix yours yet? I just posted about an aftermarket cable: https://mazdas247.com/forum/t/right-side-handbrake-cable-replacement-e-brake-parking-brake-dorman-c660769.123878623/

Right Side Handbrake cable replacement (e-brake, parking brake) Dorman C660769

Just some info. for anyone with broken/seized handbrake cable issue....(2012 Mazda5 GT, Canada, 6 speed MT) TLDR: Dorman C660769 fits/works perfectly for RHS. Mine was sticking, so replaced the caliper (overdue anyway) and the right side brake cable. I wanted a cheaper option than the entire...

Mazda5 Caliper return spring replacement (emergency/parking brake sticking)

Yeah, I’ve found a place in the UK that sells return springs individually. Although they say the one they have doesn’t fit the 2.5L North American vehicle, only the diesels and 2.0L. However, it looks very similar and for C$8 I might give it a shot. My Mum lives in the UK so shipping is not a...

Mazda5 Caliper return spring replacement (emergency/parking brake sticking)

Springs stretch and when the handbrake is applied the spring is under tension, this stretching it. A reasonable correlation that the more the car is driven the more the handbrake is applied, the more it’s stretched. Although I suppose you could also say the less it’s driven, the more the...

    2016~2023 Ultimate “Grand Tourer”

Looks great. I want to do this to my Stormtrooper CX-5. Did you wrap this with the switches in place on the wheel, or did you remove the cruise/audio controls and wrap them off the wheel?

Can Rear Defrost (Defogger) be set to continuous (DIY solution)?

I think that may have been a reason, "back in the day" but I think that issue has been solved, otherwise it wouldn't be an option at all. Seems odd the dealer can do it, but not an owner. Because even if they warned you about the rear window cracking and confirming you really really wanted to do...

Mazda5 Caliper return spring replacement (emergency/parking brake sticking)

Hey there. I do indeed have a CX-5, but I also have a Mazda 5. I will adjust my profile info. to make that more clear, so thank you for pointing that out. This is about my 2012 Mazda 5 GT (6MT) It's very easy to access and get a look at what is happening by just pulling off the wheel. Icould...

Mazda5 Caliper return spring replacement (emergency/parking brake sticking)

2012 Mazda 5 GT: Had an ongoing issue with the parking brake not releasing properly. Pulled the wheel today and notice significant crud and debris caked around the cable pivot. Cleaned it all off and the pivot seems relatively free to move, so problem somewhat solved. However, the car has...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

FWIW Spend the money on the lug nuts, it makes a HUGE difference.I got my rims powered coated in gloss black, plastic-dipped the logo on the centre caps, and added the McGard black chrome nuts. So worth it! Here's the link to my Stormtrooper conversion, but I've attached a pic of the wheels...

Can Rear Defrost (Defogger) be set to continuous (DIY solution)?

Is it possible to change the factory setting of the rear defrost from "15 minutes" to "Continuous" without going to a Dealer? For reasons unknown this is a personalisation setting that exists, but can only be performed at a dealer. Is there a button press combination that will get me into the...

Wrap Shifter Console in Matte Black (Gloss Black Delete)

Yep…briefly as I’m at work, I put a piece of masking tape, the width and length I wanted, on a big sheet of wrap. Then I slit the tape in the middle for access, then used a single hole punch to cut nice clean and smoothly round (inside) corners. Then an exacto knife to join the corners if you...

    Interior piano black covers

I took my shifter console off (very easy), I un-clipped all the individual pieces, and wrapped them in matte-black. Turned out great. See my more recent post for pictures.

Looking for Clarification on infotainment screen anti-glare coating “issue”

Mine is a Canadian 2017 GT version. I will try and take a photo of the "lip" in question, but it is very small. However, when you run your fingernail across, starting on the outside bezel and going towards the centre of then screen, you can definitely feel it right at the edge. The lip (ridge)...

Looking for Clarification on infotainment screen anti-glare coating “issue”

That’s what I’m thinking. There is definitely a slight lip all around the perimeter. I’m trying to take a good photo but it’s awkward with the lighting and angles. I can’t see how ANY original screen/glass/display would crack/flake/shatter at the edge like this. It’s behaving like all my phone...

Wrap Shifter Console in Matte Black (Gloss Black Delete)

Thanks, it was really easy to do as well. I think a big part of what makes it look so good is the rounded corners around the gear selection indicator window. The wrap should last WAY longer than Plastidip or other coating, and looks far more sleek than the stick on metal covers, and those...

Looking for Clarification on infotainment screen anti-glare coating “issue”

Clarification on infotainment screen anti-glare coating “issue” So I have the same infotainment screen issue on my CX-5 (purchased used) that afflicts so many others. I have read the discussions here and the general consensus is replace the screen OR clean off the remainder of the anti-glare...
