Made My Decision!

I have decided to just use some vinyl instead of painting the bumper white. I went to over 3 shops..and they all wanted to charge me like $300-400. To pain it white. And they told me they think there will still be fitment problems. So i have made my decision.

I was at the shop getting the vinyl done. We finished one side of the car. And tomm we are going to finish up with the other side. Also we will be adding a new banner to match the fenders. Was thinkin about getting some vinyl done on the hood as well. I purchased a Full Roll.

Will be finishing up the other side tomm and will have pics up shortly after.

I have attached pics of the current setup.

so your gonna vinyl the whole car white??

wow.... never heard of that one...
so how much will you save in terms of paint costs?

you know.. that's actually not a bad idea?!? Especially if you have a relaible shop and the urge to change the color of your car as fads come and go?

Sorry, don't like it, but who cares what I think as long as you are happy that is all that counts. (bike)

not gonna be very shiny though...and that stuff can be expensive...almost as expensive as paint....

but i thought he said he was just getting the bumper covered in white, since it seems to be the only off-color part of the car.

Nope..Not vinyling the whole car lol! And i am not vinyling the bumper white. I will have pics up soon.

oh I know what you're doing. You;re putting red graphics on the car in an effort to make the front bumper look right(lol)

I remember the car from the NJ meet and you had some graphics on it, but not complete.

We have a winner(first)

That's ghetto I personally would get it painted but I don't know how it will come out. Won't you be able to see some of the red throught the white vinyl?, why are you going to vinly the hood also?

NO white..Only REd vinyl. Already have half the car done..the color of vinyl is very close to the color of the bumper. Got out most of all the bubles. Not sure about the vinyl on the hood yet. I wanna get a carbon fiber hood anywayz. The guy told me that we have allot extra vinyl. I bought a Whole Role of this s***. We are doing 2 layers for the front winshield. So that it's very dark red.

Oh I see so what is going to be red and what is going to be white?

I couldn't wait any longer..here is a sample.

This reminds me of that "We ran out of floorboards so we painted the dirt! Pretty clever!" I say you're a frikkin' genius, acid. :)

what bumper is that? its pretty nice.. altough the fitting is scary.
It's the buddy club 2 kit. I haven't seen many aftermarket kits fit perfectly. Have you seen how some people had problems w/ DGM parts?

Chas(dunno)

If you have extra you need to put the red vinal on the front bumper. Your right the color is close, but even in the pic we can see it's not an exact match. The red paint on the bumper is deaper and darker than the red vinal on the quarter panel. That little color differance is going to start REALLY bugging you as time goes on.

I know from experience, since after my front and rear bumpers were replaced and painted. In the sunlight they match exactly, but under certain light at night they look off. At first it didn't bug me, but now I REALLY notice it and it bugs the HELL out of me. On your car it will be even more noticable under all lighting conditions as the vinal will not refelect the light in the same way as clear-coated paint.

If you have the extra vinal take your bumper off and vinal the entire thing. That's the only way you'll have a close enough match that you won't notice the differance. If you don't have enough to do the whole bumper than integrate the vinal onto the bumper by the quarter panels. It could create a ghosted effect having the red vinal on red paint, and lead that in the red vinal on white paint.
