i know im not the only who has one, so lets see what everyone has done to their xmod.

i got the skyline last week and i hated the color, so i changed it. i got the idea for the paint from ken, whom used the same paint on his amp. it looks dark metallic grey, but it changes when the light hits it.

i also cut out the lower front grill and added an intercooler from a skyline model that i had laying around. i painted the rims gloss black and went back over the lip with silver paint. i decided to paint those rims because i didnt like them and i wouldnt use them otherwise.

i also have the lighting, suspension, wheel, and tire packages, as well as the stage 2 motors (which i have yet to put in). i cant find the body kits for the skyline anywhere.

i got my supra on a slide-but i wouldnt say its drifting.

got stage 2 motor-installed
drift springs and steering lance
metal berrings(if u dont got, u should get)
and he foam and grip sets or rubber with he A M rim styles
extra kit pieces for both but kits do nothing for real cars so y would they do anything for replicas(unles its a select few)

as far as finding a kit try xmods online thru radioshak-if u didnt already, they update aily so it is best to check daily. thats how i got ALL my s***

i took apart the entire body and sanded each peice with 400 grit sand paper. do not sand all the way through the paint, especially around the edges where 2 body pieces meet. this will cause it to not fit properly when you get it back together. just sand it enough to where the gloss coating is removed.

then i covered all of the windows, grills, and anything else i didnt want painted with tape. i used an exacto knife to trim the tape to fit the places i wanted covered.

then i wiped all of the pieces with a damp cloth to remove all of the excess sanding powder.

then i layed all of the pieces on a newspaper and sprayed them. spray from about 8 inches away. if you get too close, the paint will run. then i flipped all of the pieces over and sprayed them.

if you want to paint smaller areas, such as the rims, you could use model car enamel paint. it works very good and you can get it in practically any color for about .90 - $1 per bottle

thats pretty much it. it is tedious work if you want it to look good, but it was worth it imo.

Hey it looks good! I left the Skyline yellow. I have most of mods for it. All I have to get is the engine upgrade, metal bearing kit, and rims/tire upgrade. I'm trying to get my roomate to get one. I would love to get the Si in Blue and the RSX in Silver.

i think the stage 2 motor is about 12mph, which is pretty fast for a small rc car.

im trying to think of ways to add some sort of boost to it. i thought maybe there is a way to add the firepower from a toy rocket. they sell the gunpowder rolls for like $4, but im not sure how big the actual ignition part is. im sure if it could launch a toy rocket hundreds of feet in the air that it would launch a plastic car pretty damn fast.

co2 cartridges, i used to have them for my air powered pistol bb guns... although it may be a little large they have some push in them (i've never seen a xmod in person)

Heres my Skyline

My only Xmod, so its had its share of wrecks... Only mod is the stage 2 motor set, running the drag motor (or whatever one has the most tq) spins the rear tires on demand, Ive never had so much fun on a hardwood floor. Im going to order another body because this one is messed up. I was drifting in the kitchen and my poor car just drifted out the open door and rolled alway down to the basement (poke). Planned mods include, a spinbrush hybrid motor, metal bearings, new body, rims, and a 5th cell (burnout)

I didnt think you could fit a gas engine in a 1/24 scaled car,If you can I want one. These cars are electric and fit in your hand. And they can go as fast as you want them too, just depends on how good you are with electronics. There are some crazy ones with custom motors that will go north of 25mph. There are also nitro cars that go 60mph (ive seen one go 100) but they are much bigger cars, mostly 1/10 scale.

yeah the gas ones also cost upwards of $250. do the math: 5x the speed = 5x the price

I just got mine and I've already come to the conclusion that I'm going to drop way too much on this thing

one question though... does anyone have the Command Logic light set? I put it in but I can't seem to disconnect the plug from the chassis and its annoying to work on it (have to remove the lights completely to do major work... any suggestions? I've tried to pull on it but it seems to be stuck and I don't want to break it.

yes my xmods are beat to hell....I have a track in my basement so all my friends come over with theirs and we race.....its gets violent sometimes
