What's this stuff in the trunk?

Does anyone have any idea what these two things are in my trunk? I've pulled the Sub enclosure out so that I can power two 6x9s from the stock amp instead (need more room and don't need the attention), but there is a 2-pin connector going to each of the two 6x9 blanks (top arrow), and another thing (antenna controller? defroster part?) on the bracket. Any thoughts? and can I disconnect them without causing trouble?

Thanks-

NO! You cannot disconnect those wires! If you do the electromagnetic field around the earth will vanish and we will all expload like peeps in a microwave.

Er... I honestly have no idea what those are

remove the rear deck lid and see if the wires continue on to the antenna. you may have to cut the antenna wires and add some wire if you add the 6x9s.

good question anyone know >?

the wire to the box is your rear defroster. The wire connected to the black panel where the 6x9 speaker should be is a dead speaker wire. Other sedans have the rear speakers there, they just left the wire in.

have a nice day :)

Who'd've thought... I'm thinking about pulling all of the enclosure parts off the particleboard (HEAVY!) that its attached to and ounting the amp to the top side- leaving the brackets in place... Should work out perfectly and I shouldn't have to relocate the defroster box. sweet.
