Hit Dog - Lower Grill Is Cracked

I hit a dog doing about 50 kmph. It went under the car i felt the bump. I'll assume the dog is ok because it ran away super fast after i went to check on it.

my question is ----> is it possible to replace the lower grill or do i have to replace to whole front bumper?

please advise

thx!!!!

You hit a dog at that speed, and the damn thing ran away? s***, what type of dog was it? One of those horse-sized ones?

if you are talking about the black plastic grill insert in the lower portion of your front airdam, yes you can replace that very easily, it pulls out, it has little plastic tabs on the back of it - if you are gonan replace it, you can pretty much just rip it off - otherwise you can reach up from under the car and unhook some of the clips while pulling the grill forward. You may have to unscrew the black plastic scraper on the bottom of the front bumper so you can fit your arm up under the car.

The grill shoudl cost you $32.00 at a mazda dealership - but if you get it from a collision body shop it should cost you $14.00

ouch! if you had a front lip or if you dropped your car, there would be a headless dog walking around...lying around...

hm.... please disregard this reply if you are no longer living off your parents....

but if you were u could ask them and see if they would pay for a new bumper, then you could maybe get the mintblue one, if u like it that is....

I ran over a pigeon once... almost freeked me out.... good thing it flew off afterwards...

how fast is 50kph anyways? around what 35 or 40 mph? hmm. i seen a dog get hit at 50 mph once when i was in grade school. it was right there on the other side of the fence during recess. it went up and over the car (which didnt stop afterwards) and landed like a limp noodle. it got up and then walked off witha broken leg we later found out. ouch. as for the car, if that little black plastic grill was all that was damaged thats a good one to get away with.

I hit a raccoon once....

cracked the front bumper below the driver side fog light and right beside that same fog light...

and another...

those two cracks...plus a fifty-cent-piece-sized "smiley face" scratched in the rear bumper cost $150 to fix by a friend's dad. Yeah, I said smiley face, nicely detailed and everything. kinda looked like... :) I was more like
