Production Engineer discusses Mazda

:
2019 CX-5 AWD

He makes some interesting points. I have to agree that the panel fit and paint are excellent for what I paid new (25,800). The Toyota RAV4 costs thousands more to match specs and CR-V is even more expensive (34,400 for base AWD model).

There is also some production footage.

Here he shows some new footage in the Hofu Factory.

Interesting videos. Professionally I am involved with powertrain plants serving most auto manufacturers, I am not used to final vehicle assembly plants. In the U.S. powertrain plants ship completed engines and transmissions to the final assembly plants. AGV's are far from new, but the way Mazda is using them is cool.

CX-5 drives and handles better than other compact CUVs?
You bet. I love it so much that I have two now. ('17 and '22)

David's videos make me understand how Mazda can produce 20 diff CUV/SUVs.
Flexible assembly.

Hah! You are exactly 3 years behind me (2014 & 2019 CX-5's) which means that in 3 years you'll be buying a CX-50 (I just got one :) )
