Steering column knock (2021 Mazda CX-5)

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post a question here. 2021 Mazda CX-5 signature turbo. After the car sits overnight and I go to move the steering wheel there is a slight knock heard in the steering column and can be felt in the steering whee also. It sounds like it’s inside the vehicle not outside. It’ll occasionally make this noise when slowing down to a stop light and moving the wheel slightly from center. Anyone else experience this? Dealer says they can’t duplicate anything. Thanks in advance!

Not sure (never checked mine) but aren't the steering wheels adjustable? Make sure the lock is fully engaged and if so try adjusting the steering wheel a little lower or higher and see if it still makes the noise.

Definitely not normal. Please check what wlong01 suggested first.
I’ve adjusted up and down and I’m and out on the column, making sure it’s secure. No difference. Wondering if it’s a clockspring or steering shaft issue?
