what's the point of putting fiberglass on the front of the car? i see people on the boards w/ fiberglass lips and it can snap easier
but to answer you question it's to match cf grills and hoods
hey people do it.. there's a lot of lips out there made of carbon fiber.. it's for show purposes too
cf is paintable and more durable than fiberglass.. hey, people paint their cf hoods
point of having fiberglass is because you have paint over it, so the paint takes the damage, and you can always repaint it. CF is covered in resin, and if the finish ever gets scratched or messed up, there is nothing you can do about it, you can't just repaint it. If you are buying this lip just to paint it, then you should look into just getting a fiberglass one. Most CF pieces are just fiberglass covered in a vanity sheet of carbon fiber that does very little strength wise. Only sandwiched carbon fiber increases structural integrity.
I'm not talking about hitting a curb, cause then you screw up anything you have no matter what.
I'm just saying, Resin, in a repairable way, is like glass. Once you crack or chip it, there is nothing you can do, you just have to replace the entire thing. I'd rather have just a polyurethane lip like that shape, then I can paint it, and it will be repairable if I get any little rock chips, unlike CF
this is all from a daily driver standpoint, if your car is show only, then this lip is great, sure.
