2012 Mazda 2 Touring SG 5MT
Going to pick up a 2012 5 sport 6mt for the wife tomorrow. I know I've seen at least a couple others on here that own a 2 and a 5. I'm curious as to how many of you are out there!

I wish I could talk my fiance into driving a manual, otherwise i'd already have bought her a 5!

Got it today! Had to be delivered quite a distance to get here but now we have a liquid silver 5 with black interior and 6MT. The wife and I love it. Too bad it wasn't available in spirited green! Pulls significantly harder than my 2 (not a surprise).

Drove the 5 a bit more. Clutch is significantly firmer than the 2, and the clutch engagement has more feel. Overall, the drivetrain has a more sporty feel. Too bad mazda didn't put that drivetrain into the 2, would make for one heck of a ride.

I have 2007 5 and a 2011 2 got both new and love them too bad cx5 was not big enough for my family cause we would have it too.

Yea if they could've squeezed a 3rd row into the cx-5, I would've considered it. The sliding doors on the 5 scream minivan...but they're definately convenient. AWD and more ground clearance would definately be nice though. Not to mention the skyactive mpg's.

While ive owned 3 mazda3's (even a 5 sport) and now a 2, Ive bought my wife 3 mazda5's since 05 when we got the 1st one in ohio (drove up to michigan the day their first shipment arrived). She currently has the 2010 white pearl grand touring...so yeah
im in the 2 and 5 boat.

whats funny is I actually just traded in her 2008 white pearl sport (34k miles on it) for a 2010 GT, (21k miles on it) predominantly JUST because she wanted a friggin sunroof....6500 dollars later lol...same damn color, probably the weirdest auto trade in\purchase ever.

Now to get the new one tinted like the "old" one.

Wow, thats one expensive sunroof! I like the exterior design of the 1st gen's better, but I am certainly loving the powertrain on the '12. If I could've found a lightly used 1st gen 5MT, we would have bought that for my wife instead of the new one. We got a good deal though, paid about $15,600 for it before taxes. In order to get the one we wanted (liquid silver, black interior, 6MT) they had to drive it to Atlanta from Myrtle Beach, and it had about 400 miles on it before we drove it off the lot.

you got a new sport mt for 15,600? (msrp is 19,600 plus dealer fees!) Thats awesome I almost feel jipped. I ended up paying 16500 for the 2010 gt auto (leather, heated seats, dvd player with wireless headphones, game controller, hids, sunroof, fogs), although new with all the options msrp was 26380....so a year and a half of ownership and 21k miles later I get the car for 62% of what it was new ;-)

Actually, it may have ben closer to $15,000 since I had to pay a $499 "documentation fee". It was $16,8xx out the door (after taxes and tag/title fees). I used truecar.com, and ended up getting an even better deal than what was on the truecar "certificate." There was a $1000 mazda "incentive" discount that helped (since I was not financing it). Keep in mind it was the sport model with no options.

I also used truecar for my 2, but since I opted for the 0% financing I did not get any "incentive" discounts. It ended up being about $15300 out the door for the 5MT touring, but it came to me with window tint, armrest, cargo net, and wheel locks for free.

I definately recommed using truecar for buying new cars, but unfortunately there just aren't too many "truecar dealers" around.

I paid muchos more for my 2 touring mt ....me no tell you ;-)

Now that I think about it, it must have been $17,800 for the 5....$16,800 just doesn't make sense. And it would have been $16,300 for the 2.

I really like the motor in my 5 effortless acceleration. However the 2 is so much more fun to drive.
