wichester 1800 I believe its a goo one, I dont know to many pumps, but I forgot to ask have you looked at any of the barettas? they make awsome semi autos.

i'm not sure... I have one setting it my rack that I ont use... but it's a .20 GA... one of the first shot guns I was given...

but yeah the barretta's are a bit price but there worth it lol, the are truely amazing guns... and there complicated, but I know ppl that shoot them year round at a minimum of 300 rounds a weekend and have no problms with thm..

Picked up a Mossberg 500A, $220 shipped.

28" ported VR, obviously a cheek rest.. unless it is grossly misrepresented, a great deal IMO.

aaaaaaand looking at a speedfeed III stock for cheap already. The furniture on that gun is too nice for what I'll do to it, so I'm gonna proabably swap it out unless I really like that cheek piece, then the wood will stay on for clay shooting, and the speedfeed will handle duties at home.

I got to the party a bit late... My personal choice is Benelli Nova or Supernova, I own a Supernova and have put more than 5,000 rounds through it and love it. Nice choice with the Mossberg though!

it was the cost effective choice.. shot my fiance (above)'s uncle's .204. Now I want a rifle and I highly doubt I'll be pulling that off for less than $300.. I'm thinking something in the .223 family, likely bolt action. (no, not interested in an AR)

I would suggest a 28" if you're planning on mostly shooting clays with the gun. Choke tubes are handy, and pretty standard these days (as apposed to the fixed chokes of yore).Keep in mind that you may catch flack for bringing a pump action field gun to a clays range. Those guys out there can be way uptight. I don't mind em, as they even sneer at my Citori because it's not a "trap" grade gun. But be prepared for it. World championships have been won with an 870. It's a good gun. Maybe the best for the money on the market.
