2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT
Hi guys,

I've been trolling here for a few weeks. Just bought a 2006 MS6 GT last month and am loving it. I've got a Mazdaspeed CAI and Street Unit REM, plus some minor cosmetic mods.

Previous car was a 1998 BMW M3, and I have no regrets about swithcing.

phew! how bout the new E90. i've always had a lil crush on the M3's. the newest one is just downright nasty though. 400+ hp. yes please!

I'm such a sucker for any of the M-line of cars. I would trade my MS6 for a low mileage E30/E36/E46 M3 in a heartbeat.

Thanks, guys.

A lot of the M enthusiasts are down on the current generation. It's a great car, but they think it is too big and strays too far from what the M program was supposed to be about -- particularly when it comes to the V-8. The next generation M3 is supposed to be a return to the E36 model: smaller, less focused on luxury and with a naturally aspirated six.

love the whole M line. any pics of the old car?
and welcome!

See attached.

After just a couple of weeks in the MS6 (with the mods noted in my sig), I will say this:

1. It is a lot faster than my M3. I love the explosive acceleration you get from a turbo. That was the one thing that disappointed me about my M3.

2. It has a much more livable ride than my M3, which was downright painful on Michigan's notoriously bad roads. This was one of the reasons I switched.

3. It has a lot more creature comforts than my (E36) M3, and actually seems a little more luxurious. That would not be the case with a newer M3.

4. It lacks the "riding on rails" feeling you get with the M3 that, coupled with its true neutral balance, really inspires a lot of confidence at high speeds. Of course, that's why it's more comfortable.

5. I miss the feeling the air dam gave of pressing the car to the road the faster I went.

At this point, I would sum it up by saying that my M3 was a better track car, but my MS6 is a better highway car.

Oops ... here's the pics

nice lookin bimmer, I've always wanted one and I really liked the look of the older models. Future plans for the new speed?

Well, I've already got a CAI and rear motor mount. I am not planning on doing anything with the suspension, as part of the reason I switched was to get a more livable ride. Probably a turbo gauge or DashHawk.

Nice... if you get the DH check out the DH vent pod interest thread, were trying to get a group buy goin...

White6Knight, welcome to the forums. There have been a couple new WWP Speeds lately, good stuff!

Thanks for your impressions comparing to the M3, it's always great to hear things like that.
