hey guys,
ive recently retrimmed my whole interior in leather, but the only thing left to do is the door trims. does anyone have a diy or a guide to help me out?
im stuck with trying to get the material trim off the door, i dont wanna wreck it.

thanks!

Hey ...i'm doing this right now... You have to take the door apart and when you do that you will notice that you can't just pull the material off because it's all just one panel. Anyway what i did was insert my material over the top and used spray adhesive working the fabric as i did it. I cut out the basic shape of the panel i was replacing and used a tool to work the material into where you see it disappear. I screwed up a couple of times but it looks way better than stock

1. The items i used for the project and the detached door panel
2. This is an item you can get from a fabric store. It is a good tool for working the fabric into the groves.
3. Here i am first working the longest side of the fabric into the door panel this is kinda anchoring the fabric to the door before you spray. Note: i did iron the fabric first.
4. I then flipped the fabric up to reveal the whole door panel and taped off the areas i didn't want the spray to get on
5.Spray the fabric with the adhesive. After doing that you want to wait about 5 minutes then lay the fabric down making sure to smooth to eliminate any bubbles.
6.cut the excess fabric off and use the blue tool to work the edge of the fabric into the panel
7. Cut the hole out for the door handle and lock.
8. Front door done! Sorry don't have one for the back door.

hope this helps!
