im suprised no one has mentioned how illegal it is for you to change the odometer. like its a federal offense i believe. you are now obligated to get a TMU title - true milage unknown

Ouch, I know what mine was at when I switched it out. I know what his was at. So you take what it's at now and add 19146. Seriously though, if I would have bought the part from Mazda, it would have said 0. 9000 is closer to 28000 than 0 is. What would they have done?

probably put it forward. to them, knowing what it was and is doesnt mean crap, if you get me. im not sure how to work that out, but i would seriously contact your dealer asap and pay for them to add X amount of miles to the odometer.

They were bent before...

Don't know if the Mazda Dealer will be able to change the mileage either. Besides being a technical issue, there are also legal issues with doing so.

As I said up here ----^

You need to get a state referee come and check it off, then I think they stamp the back of the cluster. I can't find all the info right now.

It's there own dumb fault for keeping it in the gauge cluster instead of on the ecu. But what if I switch out the ecu... O well, they can never win. It needs to be kept in an independent non volatile memory chip thats embedded deep somewhere where you cant get to it without killing yourself. But someone would find it. I didn't know it was so easy to roll back miles... All you have to do is fry the chip on the back, everything goes out, memory is lost. They replace it under warranty :D Done.

oops i missed that, sorry charles. anyways looks good so far phreek.

Thanks, I've already considered that I will never sell this car. After it having a "major incident" 15 days after I got it, and all the holes I've put in it for wires and a switch. All the plastic I've shaved...Shes mine for life!

Maybe I'll put mine back in. Give them the MSP one and tell them to match the miles. Then I'll install it in the parking lot. I'm sure they can do that much for me. Then it wont be as off.

i wouldnt sweat it too much, just remember if they ever have to mark down miles, there will be a red flag go up when your reported miles go down 20k instead of up lol

Here is what you can do. Pop out the needles from the original and place the mazdaspeed ones in the original holder so the mileage will be fine. All you need is a set of plyers. its really easy, I did it to mine. Any help you need just ask

Hahaha jason your gonna go to jail. If you ever take your car in for service there gonna wonder where the hell 20k miles went.
